Rhino liner on a paintball gun?

I was sitting back talking about how I bought one of the new delrin turtle cocker bodies and I was like... hell yeah super light and I cant scratch the body. Then it dawned on me.... rhino line a paintball gun?? Block off all thread holes and openings and spray a coat on it. Anybody every thought of this?? Yes it would add some weight, but I think it would be far out!!

Hmmm, I've heard of Rhino Lining a whole car with very good results actually, get a tintable liner and it could make a real cool camo effect.

Well, I watched a paintball tournament and they were diving into some serious mud. Now again these guys are sponsered so they get new junk everytime they bust something. So I wouldnt care to much about that either... but I'm not sponsered and well If I had to jump into some mud like that and slide my marker through it I would be pissed. Scratch the hell out of the anno job and maybe worse. So I was like... well if I had my emag with a thin coat of rinolining, say give or take 1/16 of an inch thick... I really wouldnt give a Sh!@ The only thing you would have to worry about is getting the electronics wet, or dropping it wher it actually bent the aluminum.... I want this done. And yeah I have heard of people rhinolining the complete body of 4 wheelng vehicles to prevent rust and wear. I think it would be neat on a paintball marker. Wounder who I can talk to about doing this?? I think I will have it done to my emag. EBZ

That would look awesome on a Mag. I've heard of guys with Tippmanns doin it.

I don't know. But it sounds like a "Good idea, Bad idea" issue

Good Idea - putting a bed liner in a bed of a truck.

Bad Idea - Putting it on a Paintball gun and not having the peices not fit together.

just tape off the parts that need tight tolerance, just like luke does for powdercoating.

Good idea bad idea?? WTF?? Hell its great. And finch said exactly what I said earlier. All threads/openings are blocked off. So the inside of your mag is still gonna have the original aluminum/anno, but the outside is gonna have a nice protective coat of rubber... or whatever the stuff is.. Is there like a rubbertype paint that is thick enough to actually work? Dang I want this done, just to say I did it if anything else. EBZ

If you think about it, it would be alot cheaper way for paintball companys to prep markers. Instead of ano jobs, just hit it with a protective rubber coating so you dont scratch the hell outa the body. Yeah Annodizing adds a small protective layer to the aluminum, but wouldnt a rubberized paint do the same thing?

you may still want to have the part annodized before hand, so it has a chemically different layer than normal alluminum that can oxidize. Just needs to be a simple anno to keep the exposed parts from rusting.

having a good bit of experiance with DIY bed liners, I say, Bad Idea. The stuff is thick and would throw off tolorances in every which way. It's also rather ugly.

If you want a finish that is durable, just get it hard annodized or Powder coated.

How's this for and Idea. How about this.

                          Color
                          Guard Tool Coating

You can get thinner for it to control the thickness of it. I've seen another brand in a smaller container at harbor frieght but don't remember the price.

I think I will rhino-line my 3-wheeler gas-tank/body area. Is it really expensive?

                              Sacrifice

Try it with a cheapo Spyder, Winchester, or similar before you take the chance of ruining a Mag or some marker that matters.
