    Angel/DM5 frame transplant

    My latest project:

Got the Angel Speed for a good price. There should be a law against people abusing their paintball guns. This thing had paint in places that I never knew existed. The feedneck was basically glued in by all of the broken paint that accrued in the crevises. Damn 14 y/o PBnation'ers.

Anyhow, I picked up that DM5 frame for this specific purpose. I HATE the WDP 90* frames, but I love Angel. The board sucks even worst than the 90 frame. Sensi was the first part I tossed in the trash can. What the heck were they thinking with that thing?

This bad boy is getting a DM5 predator board and red lazur eyes. This way I can make use of the membrane pad on the back of the frame. It should be a real beast when Im done.

Any chance of getting disassembled pics? I was hoping to see what all was done to the frame. I am looking very seriously at doing this to my new(to me) IR3. I dont know if the speeds are the same as the IR3s but on mine i need to not only drill the correct hole(s) for the grip screws but I also have to notch out a spot for either a valve plug or an lpr plug, not sure which it is.
Why doesnt anything work for me.

Yup, I did that too. That little notch is a bugger. If you make your measurments carefully you'll be ok. The back screw hole has to be countersunk or the head of the cap screw will not sit flush with the DM frame. I did screw up the back hole a little and had to elongate it

did you have to notch out any grooves for running wires to the noid?

No, the wires fit right in. I did have to make a notch for the 'nub' (for lack of a better word right now) that is by the front frame screw that holds the poppet vavle in place. (sorry for the late response)

I received my DM5 preadtor board on Friday and it only took about 5 mins to get it up and running. The thing is a beast. I am going to see about the eye install sometime this week.

The gun is wicked-fast, and with the pred board the set up variations are endless.

I will get some more pics when the eyes are in.

                      lol

It really wasnt too hard. Finding the frame, and then dealing with teh 14 y/o PBNers was harder.

Ok i am almost set to buy a frame off of pbn from someone who went tu a UL frame. I have one last question. Im on the old sensi system which I know wont work with the DM board. Big loss . But what did you do when it came to noid to board connetcions? The battery fittings are included in the frame I am looking at and the only other thing I would need is the noid connectors. Are the angel connectors the same as on the DM board or did you buy them as well? If you bought them and then spliced/soldered them onto the lines from the angel noid where did you get them from? Thanks.
Why doesnt anything work for me.

The Angel noid plugs right in. You can get the rest from TAG. There is a power/trigger harness and eye harness. I think I spent about $150 for all of the compontents but I dont remember exactly. Make sure the guy you get the grip from gives you the trigger switch mounting screws and the board mounting screws or you will be screwed :-)

The old sensi can go in the garbage. If you can strip the gun yourself, TAG will do the milling for $75 with the eye covers. Mine is there right now.
