How to make my brown Warp black

OKay, I got a warp feed that's technically "smoke" but in reality is a tobacco brown. It doesn't really match the marker, which is black / gray / silver.

I was thinking about cooking it in some black RIT dye ... would this make it more of a true black color, or just a darker brown?

i don't have any experiance with dying, but I sure think if you left it in the black dye long enough it would end up black.

Well that's the thing, I wouldn't want it solid black, I'd still want it to be clear, but just not so brown. I suspect that it would just turn out to be some nasty color in between, but I'm not sure. Since the warp is brand new, I don't want to go out and spend money on a clear shell and dye that instead.

The dye would make it all black but it will take a bit of work to get the color right. The other option is a new shell as suggested.
