    No Board for electric gun

I am in the process of making my automag electrical but i was wondering if there was a way to use a solenoid, battery, and micro switch without using an expensive board. Any insight on if this is possible would be appreciated much. Thanks.

hmmm........ I guess you could just by using the microswitch to close the circuit with the battery, but im not sure if the solenoid would work correctly, plus it'd be nearly impossible to set dwell.

EDIT: another problem is that with the circuit idea, the solenoid would stay open as long as you hold the trigger, sort of like a mech autococker 3-way.

which would fry the noid if you held the trigger down two long.

And sear/bolt wear would be excessive if you held down the trigger too short time.

I guess you could use some kind of simple timer circuit though...don't know enough to point you to a good source of info

You'd have to filter switch bounce somehow too

You need a 555 timer probably two one to control the bounce and another for the solenoid.

you need to control the pulse width that the Capicitor fires the noid with. Or else the capacitor and noid will fire so fast, nothing will have time to move. Basically spread the force out over a time difference. In paintball terms...you will need a dwell control.

Be sure to never have the Capacitor and battery simultaneously connected to the noid...or you will fry it. It's not too hard to do...I did it with a spyder clone a while back.

so when are you going to pick up the slack of the Devilmag production?

I can only do so many things things at once...geez.

Between 50 hour work weeks, finishing up the mechanical full auto P-Mag, and finalizing the MQ Mag design...I have no life.

/Not saying I had one before...
