    All Smart People Look Here

    alright
you are the best and the brightest of AO
i have a little dilemma that you guys may be able to help me with

i am currently designing/planning out my electro-pneumatic mag project and i hit a wall
i want to use the intelliframe i have and i need to find an efficient place to put the 9 volt
i would like to avoid doing something like bigevil with an emag battery pack foregrip if i can
i can do some milling, i have access to one so that is not an issue
    i appreciate any suggestions

if you would like to know, the other components going into the frame are:
    mini-morlock
    solenoid (havent quite decided which)
    MPA-3
    QEV (maybe)

    help me AO!

Depending on how small your board/solenoid are and as long as you keep your lpr outside the frame you might have enough room to fit a 9v in the intelliframe if you carve out the inside of the frame a little bit more. It'll be a tight fit though.

        thanks electrician
i saw that, its a good idea and is probably what i will end up doing
im just looking to see if there are any other possibilities

Yeah Ive been debating this one myself. The next one I do I may just go the route E went. Two tricks though, first, the milling, second, that noid he used needs some sort of manifold fablricated. I guess if you can handle one you can handle the other.

this sounds like a project doomed to incompletion. before you get too far into this and the location of the battery, you have some other things to consider. first of all, do you actually have the morlock? boards are often hard to come by. secondly, the first thing you should do is decide on what solenoid you are using. its rather hard to find a solenoid that will run off of 6 volts. ive tested the tm102v12c1 solneoid and it wont click with anything under 11 volts, so even if you go with the electricians method of using a rechargeable 9-volt, it probably wont work. you wont have to worry about the placement of a 9-volt battery if you need to use a battery pack.

and dont bother with the QEV. its hard to fit inside the frame, and from my testing it doesnt really help out all that much anyway.

Look into the electro solenoid on airsolder.com

BTW...does somebody on AO run ASP?

i think so, ASP just screams pneumag.

i completely forgot about ASP and it looks like they have a larger selection since i last looked at them. some of those noids would probably work for a pneumag, but that still leaves the question of the board.

t-board, without the ion solenoid is fairly cheap, definitely can run the small solenoid valves, and has all kinds of bells and whistles.

seems like somebody was telling me that they had good luck with running a 12volt pnumadyne S10MM-30-12-2.... I think it was Coolhand. if you stay away from the LEDs and the diodes in general that makes a difference as to how much voltage the solenoid gets. and I believe you have to get within 10% of the rated voltage.

I don't know, I guess I should and get a batch of 6 volt solenoids just like the one I'm using for all the electromag designers.

I've been trying to te;ll people that about the QEV.
