    pump project

I dont have a lot of free cash because I'm in college, but would love to put a pump mag together to go with my classic 'mag as I get funds. The problem is I know nothing about pump 'mags or where to start. Any help or advice on what I should do to get started would be appreciated. Thanks

This might be a more expensive undertaking than you think. In order to convert a standard semi-auto mag into a pump requires multiple parts that can be hard to find and fairly expensive. You'll need an appropriate pump handle, pump rod, and pump mag rail, body, and bolt. You can usually find one or more of these parts, or if you're lucky, a complete kit, floating around in the Classified Forums. I'd say keep an eye out for a piece or kit that fit your budget and be ready to make with the broke-and-starving-college-student-sad-puppy-eyes.

The original pump kits were something like $60 or so. Now they can go from $150 to $200 +... it is crazy!

        Peace

Then how did A-Tach_one do this?

Looks to be a classic am/mm rail with a ule body.

The rails need to have a pump slot milled into them.

              Same with the bodies.

Doing a body that needs it is the easy part. The rail is the hard part.
