    Cheater switch.

I have no background in programming or anything to do with board logic, but my buddy asked me if it was possible to put a cheating switch in....Got me thinking. Lets say that I put a very small, nigh on undetectable pressure sensitive switch on the hpr assembly that, when pressed, would switch the marker from 15bps semi to 20 bps ramping.

Currently he is using a Wrath and I know for a fact that they use jumpers on their stock board to allow full auto (atleast they used to back when I read it ^^). Normally I don't condone cheating, but this seemed worth a laugh or two to try out.

So it leaves me with the following questions :

Where would you mount it? Currently I'm thinking about capping the gauge hole on the v.adapter and putting in a broken gauge that he can simply press down on a bit.

What board would you use? - Do any other boards have a "jumper" switch function?

    no no

Highly unlikely anyones gonna help you, very frowned upon, the vast majority of us won't condone cheating. I'm sorry if you think cheating is ok.

I'm sure his fancy wrath will be infact mowing faces in the back 40 of his lot.

He asked if it could be done, I was couldn't give him an answer. Plotted it out and asked if anyone knew something I didn't.

But thanks for the rhetoric, you should see the onboard wiping system I've come up with using nothing but 2 car batteries and a pair of windsheild wipers.

It can be done, even easier than your layout. If you arn't going to be looked over by tournament refs (there are no refs if you're doing target practice in your back yard), then there are PLENTY of ways to weave switches and sensors into a paintball marker. Just running two thin wires to a switch somewhere else is the easy way. Dremeling/milling passages between gripframes etc looks fine from the outside, but will be discovered instantly by anyone taking the thing apart. Or a good ref.

Anyone opening the grips will *see* the wires going from somewhere on the board to something they shouldn't connect to. Again, not a problem for target practice to say "look what I can do!" but is totally scumbag-ish if you step out onto a field.

If you can design the controlling board yourself, it's dead simple to do it in a way that can't even be detected by people who repair/open the marker.
Looks like a normal marker, works like a normal marker in anyone elses hands, but somehow one person can get it to go FA or ramping or whatnot.

I'm not about to tell anyone how, but yes, it's possible.

I hooked up an HES switch to one of my boards to fool the dudes in the backyard, using a magnet in my glove. I think HK or some other team got caught doing something like that.

The trigger microswitches can be modified in a way that they will fire at the pull and release, by modifying the internals of the switch. This can be combined with the HES so it will essentially turn the gun into autoresponse when the magnet trips the sensor (when you hold the gun in your hand, since the mag is in your glove) and put it back to regular semiauto when the magnet isn't near the gun.

I performed that mod to an old impulse last year and we had a LOT of fun with it in the backyard. It was one of those "hey look how fast I can shoot!" situations. I even bet people that I could shoot 20-bps with the board set to semiauto....nobody could figure it out. (of course I didn't take the money...lol).

Can you post a picture of the mock up of that? I live in the Pacific Northwest, and than might come in handy for my truck.

It's real easy to get the microswitches to double activate. The HES incorporated into that is just genious.
