AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Has anyone ever attempted to make their own grip panels and had success? I have a Chimera and there don't seem to be many options for me. I saw Cougar River has Carbon fiber grip panels, but don't they take forever to get?

Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking around. I am fairly new to Automags and the AO community. I've been piecing together my dream mag. I just bought the Chimera last week.
I'll have to watch for AO meets in the St Louis area.
I'll high jack this thread long enough to welcome you to St. Louis as well. Did you notice my post about the charityy event next month? I think a couple of AO guys are thinking about trying to attend

Yes. I made these for my Nelspot 007 since I'm left handed and I didn't like the stock grips or the aftermarket battle grips. It came out nicer than I expected too. It only took about an evening ... couple of hours maybe ... to make them. Better than watching American Idol or some crap like that. Basically it went like this; paper template, jig saw, belt sander, palm sander, hand file and hand sand. In fact, these grips were harder than most to make since the originals fit into a groove up top and held in place there, so I made a sort of internal bracing system instead of trying to make those tabs perfect. Also, the Nelspot has a very narrow shoulder around the frame, so the outside shape had to be *just right*. Anyways, grip panels with simple mounting holes for screws should be easier than what I did. I wanted to keep the look of the original Nelspot grips, but I could just as easily made them more "dramatic". The best part of making them yourself is that they fit you perfectly. I used mahogany and finished it with linseed oil so they're nice and grippy.
