    Halo off Mag battery

I know nothing about electrical systems save for the fact you can lick 9vs to get an idea how much charge they have.

I am really sick of buying batteries for my Halo and most of the rechargeable ones that are any good are quite expensive...So I was wondering, what would I need to convert the 18v from the battery to a suitable voltage for the halo? I'd assume some resistance, but outside of that I don't really know.

Notch the rai, let it roll up the side of the Halo, notch the lid and let the wires slip into a standard 9v battery clip there, so I can use the halo on a different marker, but again, I know nothing of the wires/etc to use.

Any information would be appreciated, I think it could be neat...though I don't want to ignite my hoppers.

Well you know the voltage drawn by the HALO, 9v. So know you need to know the current drawn or the amperage. Once you have that you can figure out the effective resistance of the HALO. On you have that you know what size of resistor to wire into series with the HALO.

That's the simple way and not recomended. I'm sure that brighter people here can give you a better recommendation than that.

Yuck. Can you say battery drain? I don't know how how good e/Xmags are on batteries, but I would be willing to bet if you ran your halo off of it, your battery would be dead by the end of the day, if not earlier.

A resistor means loss, i would go for a circuit that reduces 18 volts to about 10 volts. Or... get a rechargable pack for your halo, like i did... 9.6 volts out of 8 AAA rechargables is kinda nice, and i do get more volts out of it when its freshly charged. (using RC car adjustable quick charger) My pack is made out of 700mAh cells, and they will surely hold out for 2 cases or so. i put 3000 balls trough it once, and still had enough charge left to do another 1000 i think. (i'm estimating on a very safe side)

A voltage regulator is what you need, but how long the battery will last I don't know.

made a set up for me too, but dont do it if u have a cheetah board in your halo, cuz TAG lies and they are stupid..35v..yeah right..lyin scumbags..

I would go with a voltage reg if it were me, but there would be some current loss in the process. It depends on the exact reg you chose for the job.

The Halo board does have its own regulators but you wouldn't be able to use those. You'd have to wire it up to the pack to avoid motor damage.
