    2 x 9v 500mah for emag?

Just out of curiosity, since these are very light, rechargable. Any thoughts from the battery experts?

I imagine that the heavy current drain of the large solenoid would not work well with the li-ion battery. a capacitor might help though.

I don't know how much difference it makes, but these are Lithium Polymer, not Lithium Ion. I'm seeing them used in a lot of RC devices. If they don't last long in the emag, I can always use them in something else.

Its not that they won't last long, but they will cause the emag electronics/solenoid to have trouble at higher rates of fire.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know.

Li-Po batteries can acutally give alot of current compared to their weight/size. A friend of mine was tinkering with those batteries in combination with a brushless motor in RC cars. The speed you got out of that combination was kinda riciculous, since the car ran so fast it was hardly controllable. If you could find a battery that would fit in a emag battery case, it would probably work, but you will need a special charger to handle those cells.

The batteries I found are just a bit smaller than a standard 9 volt, and there's a charger that holds 6 of them I think. Thanks for the input, I may give this a shot. If it doesn't work out, I can use the batteries in other applications.

Keep us posted on results if you try this, please. It is always good to have options to replace batteries.

I will. My emag is off to the anno shop right now. When I get it back I'll test this out.
