all mill competent people LOOK HERE

    hey guys
im in the middle of an electro-pnuematic mag conversion and i am about to tap my ASA for the LPR. the thing that makes this a little more complicated is its a 15* asa and its positioned so it angles toward the grip. i want to put the LPR on the front of my asa.

i know you're supposed to use the R bit but how far down the asa do you drill? whats the best way to make sure the LPR will be straight forward? ect.

can you guys give me some pointers on how to best go about tapping my asa

    thanks for the help

on a 15 degree ASA... I would use an appropriate end mill bit and and then ream it or carefully hit it with the "R" drill. Just don't go deep enough to run into the ASA screw for the Rail

I think you could make a small(er) air passage, then drill and tap for the lpr. That way you don't need to drill a big hole all the way in.

Hmm... Does anybody know if it would work to leave the asa on the rail and secure the rail tightly? That may be a way to make sure the LPR is parallel to the barrel.

you could use a swivel head/table drill press and set it @ 15 degrees.

You know... luke does this for $12 and has like a 2 hour turnaround.

I knew they wouldn't have a better solution than what i could come up with.

If you want to go with lukes, let me know.
