    Mastercam Pet Project

Hi to all you AO Diehards out there.

Its been a long dry spell for me at AO. And I am glad to read about all these great new projects going on .

I am posting this to troll for some ideas as to what I should design and maybe build as home project at class. Right now I "almost" have full access to CNC Lathes and Mills at school for the next 5 weeks . Time is short and I would like to make something intersting for a change.

If you do have something interesting to show and tell I could see what could be done in a short period of time. Not intersted in 3D milling or body work, but anything simple that could be done in 30-60 minutes or less could be contended. Setup and take down limits me to only 3 hours on the shop floor.

And also I will not be machining anyones own personal markers (NO Personal Mods Please). Everything will be only done from scratch. If your original idea is a good one, I'll see if I can try to make one for you if possible. No promises here. OK. (Not asking for fees or even design ideas that have already been done)

I will not be checking my PM or e-mail so if you do want to reply only do so within this thread. (I only check up on weekends)

Basically, I am offering my services for free in order to make you something simple that is of your own idea. Not interested in making money or mass producing anything. This in only a one time deal at school till December. After that I can't do anything more with a CNC.
I willl be looking at submissions untill the end of November and machining would be done in December.

    Thanks.

    Heph

So... people will pay you to do simple milling on their gun? This guy does exactly that. That page should also give you some good milling ideas.

Edit: Oh, Okay. I gotcha. I agree with pneumagger. You should make a borg/single tube viking from one of haveblues merlin extrusions.

you could try to make a MQ valve for a mag.

Here's a link to the MQ patent application. Look at pages 16-22 for an idea of how to make it.

          I might have something.

I have been working on a bull-pup mag for a while and I have decided to PnueMag it.
With the way I have everything laid out I need something that will hold the Actuator and screw onto the bottom of a am\mm rail.
I already have a grip frame with the 2 way installed but I need something that will hold the actuator. It would need to have some slots in the top so I can make fine tune adjustments in relation to the sear.
Let me know and we can talk more.

          Thanks

I would pay you to hack up an 86* Ion trigger frame to fit a 'Mag. Possibly make it an integrated or hidden rail sort of deal. I would definately pay for that to be done.

I love my UMF and am now addicted to 86*... But, sadly, Ryan(?) no longer makes these, so I've been looking at Ion frames as an alternative.

              SteelSoul,

A Bul-lpup eh! That would be nice to see functioning. I had designed one once and should go and dig it out too. That would be a fun project at school.

It would be a cool project to help you complete If Possible.
I am interested at looking at what you may need done.
Throw me a PM and I will seriously look at it for you.

              Lenny,

I'm sorry Bro. Can't help you there. I don't have the time to start hacking and reverse engineer a part to fit on to a mag right now.

              Finchman,

Thanks for the link. Had to take some time to study that one. Never seen one before and I like what I see there. Makes me wish that I have a lathe at home. But too bad its not what I have time for right now.

              wjr,

Have no idea what a borg or a merlin is right now and will have to look one up.

              Pneumagger,

I hate to say it but I really shy from electro markers. I'm more mech type.

Thanks to all for you interest and input.

              Heph.
