    It Lives!!!!

Well this thing has been sitting in storage in florida ever since i moved to LA. I get home for the holidays and decide I need to finish this project while Im home. Shes not done yet, Im going out tomorrow to get some LP hose and some other trinkets. It cocks, and fires, but tomorrow is test and tune day. I know its not a mag but I made it myself without access to a mill or a drill press!

    parts:
PGP, top tube hacked off with torch.
    "custom" feedneck (copper reducer joint)
2k cocker backblock mangled to fit
mini sledgehammer hiding in the bottom tube
brass ram and threeway from stock 2k cocker
pump rod cut down and rethreaded from stock 2k cocker
    benchmark trigger frame
all brackets to hold pneumatics hand crafted by me from solid brass on a bench grinder
    or with a hand drill
    or a dremel

itll look nicer once its polished again..

I bought a copper pipe reducer from home depot and used a compass and a sharpie to make two half circles .825 inches in diameter on the bottom. Then I cut out the circles with a dremel. deburr and sand the edges flat on the inside and braze/weld/sweat with a torch and silver solder...

The plan is to sand all the braze marks flat then duracoat it black..

You should look into a grinding wheel that will work for brass- I know yours works but the standard ones are for ferrous metals, and it should be easier- the ones you're using are (I'm guessing) clogging easily.

        NICE job!!

          NICE job!!
For the brackets I actually used a dremel milling bit for soft metals like copper and brass... the grinding wheel was actually a 6 inch bench grinder... like doing brain surgery with a pipe wrench!

good looking mod so far. i'll be gettting the final few pieces to put the finishing touches on mine within a day or two (they're probably already at my house, but i'm not.)

i feel your pain about not having a drill press. i would have nearly killed to have one while i was trying to thread the front part of the valve to accept the tee fitting i used.

did you have any trouble with the main body joint wanting to come undone on you while you were soldering the ram mount? i know i did! then again, i was the one who forgot to clamp them together while working at 4 in the morning.

how do you like the ram mounted up so far on the barrel? all the ones i've seen, including mine, have the ram mounted farther back.

once again, good job, make sure to keep us updated.

How'd you get the LPR in there?

I'm about to do the same project on my PGP. As a matter of fact, I just soldered on a feedneck about 5 min. ago. I know how I'm going to do everthing except the LPR...

Its a wgp mini sledge like they use on outkasts, it fits right in.. then get yourself an all female street tee and carve the sharp points down. Tap the valve for 1/8" npt and thread a nipple into it..then thread the tee onto the nipple and the lpr onto the tee.. there should be one more gas port on the tee thats perpendicular to the others.. drill a hole in the side of your pgp large enough to put a swivel 90 degree fitting into it and run your gas lines accordingly. Any other questions just PM Ill be happy to answer.

Here's another question - how did you mod the slider to work the sear? I have a Sherridan pumper that im going to do.

It works fine as it is you just have to mill a slot almost to the rear grip frame screw hole because the hammers guide pin will hit the inside of the grip frame. The slot doesnt have to be very deep, maybe a 1/4". The other thing I did that may not be necessary is file the sear down on the side that catches the sear more flat... the cocker sear is mostly rounded up front but the sheridan sear is very square. After filing I advise you re-harden the sear by heating it cherry red with a torch and quenching it in used motor oil. Other than that a cocker grip frame is almost plug and play.

might consider a powdercoat instead of paint
