    Touch sensor trigger

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but would it be possible to attach some sort of touch sensor, such as those found in laptop track pads or touch screens, to the face of a trigger? Then, instead of the trigger needing to move to press a button, the sensor could send a signal directly to a solenoid, and eliminate trigger movement entirely. A 0 oz trigger. Would there have to be extra programming in existing boards, or seperate boards entirely?

I suppose if it is possible, it could even be taken a step further by eliminating the trigger and having sensors on the front of a frame.

Sorry if I'm a little confusing, it's about 4:00 am

It makes sense, but there's one major problem with it. I know for a fact that it's against tournament rules.

That, and what real advantage would it have?

Yea, people have thought about this in the past, but most tourney rules state there has to be a moving trigger
I suppose it would be possible, though?

The advantage would be the same as for many other trigger mods: ligher/shorter trigger pull.

Shame that it's illegal in tournies tho. Speedball is where it would make the most sense anyway. Then again, that's kinda the same deal the sppyder rocking triggers have, and those are still sold and used elsewhere.

it would have to be EXTREMELY sensitive to be anywhere near usefull. Like my Impulse has a derlin trigger, with no spring in it at all. The micro switch returns the trigger. Same with my friends '07 Ego, he did the same and removed the spring completly. If you blow on them the gun will shoot.

Neat idea though. Would be fun to have a gun with no trigger just to see peoples faces at the field. =]
