Old minimag, getting it running again

Whats up everyone, first post here. I've owned this white minimag for a long time but it hasn't been in working condition for at least 2 years.

I had it running off compressed air back in the day but sold off the tank to a friend in need. It was a nice tank with adjustable pressure. I think it was made by AirAmerica, maybe an Armageddon regulator? Can't really remember but I'd recognize it on sight.

I'm just wondering if this were working what the going price is. But mostly I was wondering about how much should I expect to pay to get it in working order again. I'm planning on breaking it down this week and cleaning everything up real nice.

What I need is hpa tank ( I guess the presets everyone is running is the way to go but thats another question), ideas on how to run the air from the tank to the vertical adaptor (I've run it straight to the regulator before but the line was kinda in an awkward spot for switching hands), and any thoughts about things to check out before airing it up such as seals or any such, and along the way any ideas on how to improve the recharge rate. I'm thinking the tank I was running before was a 3000 psi 68ci tank, I'm sure a 4500 psi tank would help but if any affordable upgrades to what I have now are available I would love to hear about them.

My only let down with the minimag was how after longer bursts it would suffer from drop off sometimes substantially which was aggravating when I knew I could of hit a shot if my paint hadn't been falling short.

Thanks in advance, hope to be hanging out here lots more.

put a few drops of synthetic oil in the asa, and throw a tank on there to see if it even needs anything.

If anything, it will just need a repair kit. http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...kAAAD3dtulA_2s

same as above, gas through foregrip, asa, run some oil through and see how it goes. if you could be a bit more specific about what's not working on with it, i'm sure someone could help you out. feel free to pm me if you have any detailed questions. good luck and welcome back

For all I know it could be working, after I break it down for a good cleaning and reassemble I'll try.

Anyone have a recommendation for a solid asa and/or gas through grip. I'm looking around online for something that won't look to goofy with the white body.

I had forgotten how easy the mag is designed to come apart. Everything has been cleaned up and some of the bolts that had a little rust will be done when I pick up some rust cleaner and wd40. The only thing really messed up is the safety, but now that I think back I think its always been stuck on fire. I'm going to work on getting that freed up tonight.

Only complaint I have is that I lost one of the nuts in the bottom of the grip to hold an asa or drop forward; it jumped out into a bunch of junk so it might be a while till I find it. Anyone know off the top of their head what size those nuts are? Not a big deal since I have the other to measure.

I'm still looking for a gas through grip, but I'll do some digging on Action Village where Finchman linked the parts kit from.

This is pretty cool that with less than 50 bucks the marker should be good as new again. If I have fun with it maybe around summer time i'll have some spare cash to blow on an x-valve

Put everything back together sans a nut I couldn't find for the grip. Anyone know what size to use off the top of their heads?

I'll take a few photos to show how well it cleaned up. I'm looking forward to getting it throwing paint again.

Dumb question but I'm not very familiar with these thread in preset tanks. Will I need another regulator if I use one? My old tank had a sweet regulator on it, Armageddon I think. It was by airamerica i know for sure though. I'm mostly a n00b still when it comes to HPA tanks.

Pretty much all hpa tanks come with a regulator of some sort. The preset tank come in 2 varieties, the high output and the low output(usually denoted by a color, red for high, blue for low). The mag will need a high output tank (~800)psi. But you do not need an additional regulator on the marker itself as the A.I.R. valve has one build in.
