    Poll: Hypermag, Pneumag, Emag?

Okay guys, let's see some opinions and maybe along the way, help some guys figure out which direction they want to go. The question: which mag-type would you refer to someone to purchase or build up? The reason I put this in the workshop forum is because we're looking for answers that are specific to the qualities and functionalities of these individual types. So if you can, cast your vote with some tinker's/tech info to back it up.

    thanks.

Performance wise... I have to say that the electro mags are just awsome. EP-Mags, Emags, HyperMag, SpyderMags with X-Valves can dump paint like crazy. with a decent barrel and quality paint, these electro mags can rip.

All Mech PneuMags gets my points for style. Since all of them have been DIY PneuMags, you can say that each one is "one-of-a-kind" and that makes them unique in their own way. Also there is a sense of pride if you can complete a DIY PneuMag and have it work perfectly. Anyone can buy a Hyperframe and slap it on. But building these PneuMags takes skill and the outcome is usually a work of art. However, in terms of ROF, all mech Mags can't keep up with Electros. I dont care how fast you can pull the trigger, Electros will always have ROF on their side.

There is also the option of converting to pump.

My vote... I dont have one... currently my rig is still all mech and I LOVE every bit of it. The urge to tinker and make my mag electro does pop up in my head once in a while. But when I look at my Mag, I just fall in love with my work and can't think of why I would want to cahnge it.

I wish I had another Mag (or two) to work with. Then I will do it all!

I'll hold off on te vote for now... I have a few questions for you

Are you looking for firing modes, or do you want a fast semi auto?
Is price a factor? What's your range?
Does weight of a marker matter alot?
And is ease of use, mantainance, and upkeep important to you?

If your looking for a quick semi that is unique, the Pneumag route will be inexpensive and quick. They don't require ULT (but work great with it) and maintenance of them middle of the road, just having to fine tune them before you chrono in for the day. They dont have electronic dwell control, so if you real sloppy on the trigger walking you could short stroke - although unlikely.

If you own a mag and just want electro compatibility, a hyperframe can boost your BPS easily. And if you have an extra bill or two to spend, eyes and a predator board are a nice upgrade for the frame. But now your looking at a $250+ frame.

Emag, if you have the money, will be your nicest electro option currently. If you have the money for emag lowers, and your definitely looking electro - I'd recommend the lowers over the hyperframe. They are reliable, need minimal maintenance, have mech override, and Xmod melts faces. Lornecash shoulda named it X(ark of the covenant meltin' yo face off)mod.

good questions for the people to view this. I'm not the one wondering, just giving everyone something to chew on if they are thinking about starting a project.

I'm Shingo, Pneumagger, I'm hearing great things about the Imag, what do you guys have to say about it?

From what I understand, it seems to be a simple EP conversion just using the ION board and attached solenoid. The main problem with a straight conversion is that the ION solenoid is a 2 way on/off and a pneumag needs a 3-way solenoid. So the real trick is converting the 2-way into pseudo 3-way by having a continuously venting output rather than a separate exhaust stage.

Although the popular MSV-2 is simply a glorified continuous venting output 2-way, making most MSV-2 pneumags like a mech Imag of sorts. If the noid conversion is reliable, I would think the setup wold be every bit successful and efficient as an MSV-2 pneumag. Personally, I just stripped the ION board completely and wired an SMC true 3 way to the board.

This is a good thread. I'm trying to decide this very thing at the moment.
I want electro. I would like firing mods ramping ect. I could build an e frame easily with the instructions on the forums. My only draw back is, If I were to build an eframe and get it dialed in, could I just then keep it in fresh batteries and forget about it. Or will it require constant maintenance?
                  Thanks for the info.

                      "For the Win"

It's used as a statement of extreme positive affirmation. Also, FTL means either Fruit of the Loom or For the Loss - a male undergarment or statement of poor standing, respectively.

In one case FTW would be the antonym of FTL, where in the other case Hanes would be an antonym of FTL.

                          No love for the Hyperframe.....

Unfortunatly they were shut down along with much else in the recent unpleasantness. A great frame as a bolt on mod, and very easy to upgrade to an aftermarket board for all the ramping goodness.
As well as they have held up for all these years I have to suggest them in positive light even still.

                            I have 2 hyperframes and 1 Boo-Yaah.

After playing with the EP kit stuff and all,... these frame look like a relic when I see them now.

For the cost to do the Pneumag DIY, then EP it,.. you get electronic speed with air ram workings.

Its just cant be beat as of now.
