    Were can I get hold of a ~ twelve inch piece of aluminum stock?

    Im trying to make a mounting plate for my Rainmaker project to stick a shocker frame on it. I want to build....

    I have a 24" piece of 1" dia. aluminum.

        tried the local suppliers, havent been able to find one that will actualy answer there phone and are willing to sell me small pieces.


        pneumagger that round stock though right? I need flat bar preferably, I dont have a mill to work with that I could machine round down to what I need.

          try telling them you are a mechanical engineering student and need it for a project. Generally these places have a scrap bin you could find small pieces in. I was able to get a 2*2*12" t6061 for $5,34.

            You could always use good ol' McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com Scroll all the way down, on the right, select "Metals" under the "Raw Materials" category, then choose "Aluminum". Good luck.

              check your local steel/metal supply stores. they usually will sell scrap/surplus pretty cheap

              also depending on what you need Home D sells flat stock in 1/8 and 1/4 from 1 inch wide to 2 and 1/2 " i believe at varying lengths..........

                    Actualy I dont think the flat bar would do it, but this square bar might.
