We all, or at least a lot of us, know of last year. The air fill problem, the lines, the paint, all the issues. And some of us also remember how JJ claimed he'd never use CPX again after the first incident due to the problems and conflicts.

Though as we now see it's there again.

So take your vote. Do you think this year they'll have the kinks worked out from last year? Or will this years' be another reminder as to why they should've stayed away from CPX after the first time?

I didn't have any problems with air or paint last year.

I'd like to think there won't be any issues at CPX this year, but part of me still believes BE holds the upper hand. I expect the worst, but hope for the best.

So, uh, can you run an E-Mag off 12 grams?

Yeah, I think it'll be fine. CPX isn't doing anything with it as Tom said, they are just lettin SPLATT lease the land for it. I also like the fact that Tom is calling the shots, maybe a few extra points for the AGD side?

Meph, you really need to start checking your facts before you go sowing rumors and such. If you don't understand, email me I'll eloborate. BTW, I can guarantee that the issues that were at the first game at CPX will be fixed. How do I know that you ask? Well I have talked to the majority of people involved and they are doing everything they can to be sure of a good event. So stop the naysaying.

Rumors? Sorry but metal rebarb sticking out of the ground is not a fictional entity. And if everything is a "rumor" how come originally on Splatt's site JJ even printed some of the trouble they had with CPX (whoever was in charge) namely focusing on the Paint issue. Of course now obviously it's no longer there. I won't even get into the troubles the players themselves had with the event, including obviously it was rigged so Shatner would win the first one(big whoop, it's a charity event it's not about "winning" but some weren't happy).

Sorry bub but some people having airfills below 1500, cheap paint going gone quick leaving only the expensive "case" at 125, blah blah blah. We all know the issues. If you care to state that airfills were fine, people didn't get their wallets reemed, and the field didn't have some questionable safety hazards.... then do so right now and claim the issues didn't exist. Be my guest. Tell me what "rumors" I'm spreading. If I am somehow wrong and this all didn't happen then I'll more than willing say "I'm sorry, I was wrong" (afterall, nobody is ever always right).

I'm honestly curious at the event as a whole if BE had learned from the previous mistakes and problems, and that they will all be addressed and covered for this event. Because blaming it all on Forrest come on, seriously. Personally I want to see them all taken care of, I really do want CPX to have a smooth event. Why? Charity obviously. Despite what I think of the place I still want $ to be made to support the Ahead with Horses.

I am trying to remember you being there? Did you experience these first hand or are you dealing once again in rumor?

Shatner 1 (I was there and involved in the game):

Fact: There were 2 air stations. The one closest to the pro shop was having issues with fills due to water being in the filter. But there was another fill station right up the road that filled 3k and 45k all day. And you didnt even have to walk, the tram would have taken you there.

Fact: The paint has always been the back end for the game. They were not expecting as many people to want the cheaper paint and they ran out. Guess what? It happens more then not at scenario games that develop a lot of fire. Now I don't know about you, but if you don't have a lot of air then how can you shoot all that paint. Skirmish charges an arm and a leg for paint but hey it's their field.

Fact: The game was not fixed. I am so tired of hearing this from people who just don't know. The game was almost tied in missions between Tom Kaye and William Shatner. The fact that Shatner's team dropped 2 of the 3 props worth 100 points a piece is what led to the 256 point spread. Mancow dropped his prop and got his 100 points. Tom chose to run without a CP and both sides mistakenly thought that killing Shatner ended the game. The game was a big game with flag stations called in every half hour and props as well. It was simple and hard nosed play.

Fact: JJ isn't involved with this game.

Fact: CPX has been leased out by the principals so they
can make any changes they want.

Fact: A tournament level air company will be coming out to ensure proper air fills.

Fact: MXS has been working on producing the event for Tom and Bill. And knowing Pacman and Mother, it will be a fair and safe game. As well as a great game to boot.

Fact: You can't please everyone, and obviously from your posts all over the various forums no one can please you. You have an answer for everything and everyone. You are the expert on markers, games, teams, role play, writing stories, producing games, playing tournaments, and everything else in between. Yet until I met you at EMR about 2 years ago, I had never heard of you. And I certainly saw nothing at either game that led me to believe that you are the expert in any of the above.

So I will say again, peddle the nay saying other places when you don't have facts.

But apparently (and I wasn't there) Tom's team was the team that was closest to that station and being the team that has to go the farthest for fills is a definite disadvantage. And frankly, a game that size reduced to a single station sux for everyone

But $125 a case? If that's true (and I really wasn't there) that's obnoxious. Its not even price gouging. I would literally leave the field if someone told me it was $125 a case. I expect something around $80-$90 a case, which is pretty steep in the first place. Over that and I'd like to know how many gold nuggets I'm going to find in each case I open.

That being said, I was at last year's and i had a GREAT time. My only complaints being the on field chronoing was a real screw-up (meaning the chronos were wildly in-accurate yet the judges went by them as if they were written into law by Moses), cash only for paint, I wasn't a big fan of the card game (1,000 paying customers on the field, all the points should involve us in some way or another, not some card game that we can't participate in or even see).

But it was a great event and i'll be at the next one.

You're kidding right? Given a choice between stocking the high end stuff and a cheaper one, I'm gonna shoot more of the cheaper stuff then one case of the higher end.

well dude. alot of high end shooting people like the idea of not having the balls break as they are crushed by halos and such. personally, ill do the more expensive one, but its all preferance, so do what you want

Meph, there were no problems (that I noted) with the air fills or paint supply/price at last year's Spplat Attack II (which was at EMR), although I heard the horror stories from Spplat Attack I.

The cash only for paint was irritating, as I ended up having to leave the field, drive to an ATM, and withdraw the necessary amount (I ended up off the field for about 45 minutes trying to find an ATM).
