We were hinted to us at MXS Valley of Kings (Nevada) this weekend that it would be a LOT closer than Chicago to us. Perhaps closer than we could imagine? California here we come?

      Location

68 degrees and "almost" never rains is much more consistent with California than underground.

I have to agree. it would cost way to much to rent an indoor arena and set it up for a scenario game. and the whole point is to raise money for charity, so they might want a place that is a little cheaper. Outside is definately the way to go. Where ever it is I will definately be there. no matter what

Jeagers SubSurface ( http://www.jaegers.com/ ) is in Kansas City,MO and they only use a small portion of the the caves. The cave network there is HUGE!!!! but they would have to re-open the areas not used anymore, they only use a small portion.

now the last time I was there the fields in use were simple standup walls and small buildings but with a little time the caves could really be filled up with props and structures.

the staging area was small, but the main entance was LARGE and LONG so staging could be done no problem and parking was ample outside the caves.

I didn't see anyplace that would support camping OR RV's.

I like the look of the other underground better except the floor, Jeagers has a dirt floor.

If you don't like it then I hope you can see this, because I'm doing it as hard as I can.

There is plenty of camping just 5-15 minutes north of jaegers I believe. I make trips down to kansas city every year for a disc golf tournament and those caves are fun to drive around in the smell is just crazy though and its great when you can feel them blasting through the rocks!!!

But, would Jaegers accommodate the numbers that Shatnerball has been seeing? It would be unfortunate if you came and only got to play a portion of the day due to having to split the main group up into smaller groups.

I personally have never seen the place myself... My guess is that it probably wouldnt, but if you like just closed down everything else in there its plenty huge haha The caves are 56 degrees though all the time so a little cold. I think the field can only accommodate around 100-200 players unless you open up the rest of the mines and start building more stuff!!! But thats highly unlikely

I agree with you that it probably wouldn't accommodate the numbers that will most likely show up. It still looks like a cool place to play, though!

Regardless of where it will be, I will still come to play.

Well, I for one would rather have it in an outdoor paintball field that is already outfitted and large enough for elbow room. Granted, we did have quite the heatwave in Joliet this year (and I can attest to that as I nearly passed out on Saturday), but most game play was in the woods and that gave us cover from the direct sun. As for rain being a possibility, a little water never hurt anyone.

                              Interesting note

Turns out the rumor is Pacman went went to LA right after the Shatner event and might have gone through the Bay Area to get there. Interesting enough, Moffett field is in San Jose. The place is a huge airstation that is only somewhat used. It never rains in San Jose and weather is normally cool. Also, Palmer is in Sacramento.

Pacman is of course the guy that pulled-off the Mount event at Camp Blanding.
