Too Hot to Play During Summer??? Check This Out!!!

Im sure some of you have seen similar products. But for those that havent, here is an awesome website for body cooling products. The first link will take you to a neck wrap that would also double as a kick-*** throat protector while at the same time keeping you cool. You can also get several of the gel-pack inserts to change out between games.

    Ice Neck Wrap Link

Here is the link to another item that I think would be perfect for play here in Florida. Cools your upper back and shoulders.

    Back Cool Wrap

I saw a ton of other sweet, body cooling products that I thought would be great for Summertime balling so look around. It could very well make the difference between playing all day or suffering from heat exhaustion

And no, Im not affiliated with them in any way, just thought the products could be great for pb.

i play in 100* weather with 90% humidity. i live in texas, all you need is a bottle of water or gatorade after 5 games or so. these gimicks will probly just constrict your movement anyways...

Well our weather is about the same in FL so lets be real, a spray bottle is fairly useless in bringing down your core temp after a couple of games

And I wouldnt say its too gimmicky. Cops/millitary use similar products under their body armor all the time. I actually think the one above looks less restrictive than the full vest style ones.

another good thing are the cooling head bands/wraps you can get from wal-mart for $4 ...dip em in cold water and tie it around your head and they stay cold for a while

            Or this....

These would easily fit under a mask. Might even get a bounce or two!

Garden hose FTW! Cools me off and cleans my 'mag between games.

I used one of those neck things when I worked at a bakery a few summers ago. Worked pretty well, considering I spent my days between the hot water washer and the oven.

Looks like some possible nipple chaffing.

I agree that something more than just spraying yourself off is necessary unless you want to risk heat stroke. Those who are saying otherwise have not truly experienced anything close otherwise they would not be so quick to dismiss.

                    Great find

These are very popular with our military personnel over in IRAQ...

and they make a great neck protector too!

I think I bought mine at the local QuickTrip market on the corner for about $5. I soak it in a glass of water the night before I go play... Takes a couple days for it to dry out again.
