        We'll have to wait and see what, if anything, actually passes into law.

        I also doubt anything that passes will be retroactive

          No, but going forward, companies can renegotiate royalties and licensing fees, and some companies that have otherwise been on the sidelines may be emboldened to make a return.

              Any arguments on this are irrelevant right now until we start to see some sort of legislation actually move forward, which is going to be some feat considering the vastly different major players that are sitting on both sides of this. Anything that passes must satisfy the new technology based companies without annoying the traditional ones. Nothing short of a major overhaul of the whole system and separate criteria for different types of patents could hope to accomplish that.
