The first 6-7" after the breech are where the maximum velocity occur. Any length after that just guides the ball.

Paint to bore match will play a huge issue like the one you are describing if the paint's too small.

I suggest a better barrel like a Feak Kit. At least you can match your paint better...

Thanks for all the help guys.

As it was pointed out to me earlier, I might just need to work on my aim. For whatever reason, I have difficulty judging distances and I should probably be aiming higher to compensate for my distance. When I am within a very short range, my mag seems very accurate.

As I also mentioned earlier, I get very few curve balls and I know my barrel is clean and smooth. I'm going to double check the paint-bore matching too. I thought I had a good fit but a few of you reported similar results if the bore is too big.

I really would like to get some sort of barrel kit.. Not the Freak though. 1st it's waay too much $$$ for me and 2nd, I hate SmartParts. Unfortunately, most kits are kind of high to begin with so I might just shop around for another small bore and a large bore barrel and just keep 3 of em.

Ah well.. at least I now have justification to buy more stuff

I personally like the Lucky Un1tec barrels if you can still find them. I started with J&J Performance barrels, and they shot very nicely in my mag

          Higher quality paint too.

Better paint is 'usually' smaller bore (less resistance , travels farther) and thicker , greater fills (heavier balls travel farther @ = FPS).
