Who else thinks 'mag CF grips rock? (PGP mod)

So I got a PGP a little while ago. It's a lot of fun, but the grip was a little tough to hold onto. I've always really liked the feel of the stock Automag carbon fiber frame, and I found out from PGPOG that 'mag and 'cocker frames are pretty close to PGP frames. Grabbed a file and a drill, and now I like my PGP way more. While I was at it, I also sanded the paint off and drilled some holes in the top so I could see how many paintballs I had left. Lemme know what you think!

About two nights of messing with it. The trigger's a drop-in, you can put the 'mag safety back, and then clip off the little nubs under the rubber of the gripframe and drill through them for the sear. That's the easy part. The tough part is filing a slot for the spring to rest against - you'll know what I mean if you look in the top of a PGP gripframe. It's hard to file through the carbon fiber by hand, but then again it can hold up a car...

Dang, I wish I wasn't so clumsy with the delicate operations nessassary to do such a thing. I would love to put a mag frame on my PGP. But it seems that everytime I have tried a simple gun mod I have screwed something up really bad. Kudos for a clean install.

I did this mod on a PGP I had maybe last year or so. Best way to improve a PGP IMHO.

The CF frame has a slightly different angle to it, it's got bottom line mounts and the grips are better than anything you can get for Sheridan frames otherwise (oh yes, I went there). Very easy mod to do as well. Pretty much, just look at the two frames side-by-side and it's pretty obvious what you need to do.

I used a rotary file bit in a drill press instead of a hand file. The mod can take as little as a few minutes if you've got power tool. Again, highly recommend.

Good lookin' PGP there, hope it treats you well. Great pics!

AGD CF Grips are by far my favorite grips ... even on mags ... i searched and searched and still prefer the single trigger CF frames over anything else...

i got to hold a PGP (nate2k1's PGP) with an AGD frame and it'a a necessary upgrade...

for some reason i just never got around to doing if for mine ... but alas my pgp was "misplaced" at the last game i went to... so i won't be doint this till i get another PGP ... If i even get one...

                I DO!

took an hour or 2 to mod since it was my first and i wanted a nice fit.

COMFORTABLE. much improved over the 1980's stock frame.

                sweet PGP man!

It's not that hard at all. The frame already bolts on perfectly with no modification (but doesn't work until you mess with it), so it looks clean regardless of what you do. Just look inside your PGP frame and you can probably figure out a way to make all that junk fit in your 'mag frame. And you don't need to modify the original frame or the PGP itself, so if you screw up you're only out a cheap CF frame.

I think I'm going to go order a brass trigger shoe from Palmer... I'll up the thread when it comes.

Very nice! Are you going to put any kind of urethane or anti-tarnish on the brass? Or will you just pamper it? :)
