    Xmag owners!!!

What I need, is for Xmag owners only, to vote to tell me your current situation in regards to your Anti Chop Eye board.

I am in high school and very active in the marketing/entrepreneurship department.

My final this year will be graded by my teachers, then I will go to districts, state and so on if I keep winning. (I tested into state alternate my freshman year)

This thread is my first step towards my goal of nationals.

If the resulst of this thread are positive, then I will be financed by my school, and will have a batch of replacement ACE boards made.

My Xmag board and the ACE both work wonderfully. That being said, I would certainly buy a replacement board and/or ACE should mine ever happen to fail. In the case of a board/eye failure beyond the scope of my repair abilities, my demand would be inelastic (i.e. I would "need" one and would be willing to pay a premium price).

Currently, because my board and ACE are fully functional, my demand for a backup is elastic. I would buy a backup if it were reasonably priced.

While I applaud and encourage your efforts, I feel compelled to caution you as to the estimated demand for such a project. How many Xmags were made? How many of those Xmags are still being used? How many of those Xmags being used have a broken board and/or ACE? How many Xmag owners have given up on the ACE and decided to rely on their Level 10? These are questions that should be addressed in your project.

Unless you have connections with electronics manufacturers and/or a propensity for working with electronic components, I believe there are other markets within the Automag community which may prove to be more lucrative (hint - aftermarket E/Xmag triggers).

I wish you nothing but the best with your project and would be honored to see it focused on the AGD community.

I am not sure which item I will use for my project. This thread is more to see if this is the project to do or not.

On my list are triggers, grip panels, and this.

I have quotes from 2 companies to do the whole board, fully assembled.

As to all those questions, the write up is 30 pages minimum.

      I appreciate your encouragement!

Since the L10 is an anti-chop bolt no eyes are ever needed. I actually sold my emag and ACE board because of the L10 reliability.

I have an emag and a mill, would look into machining my emag to use the ace system. I had talked to Kayle about this before, he seemed to think it could be done with little problems as long as the right tools are around, so I would possibly purchase one, the board cost it fairly high in the pb market, it needs to be shown the light.

Your also forgetting a large segment of possible customers like GB said, all existing Emag boards will work with the ACE if it was milled and is using the Xmod I believe, I would venture you could get a few more customers if this was the case and had lined up a reputable Milling company to do Milling of rails and bodies for even the normal Emags. You could even work in a deal with a Milling group to do the Milling for you and sell the complete package. Soo many variations and people to work with, sounds like a fun project either way.

Nice work friend! Now, if only someone was willing to %100 financially back the project, we could get a small run made for sure.

That would be a great thing to do eventually. I have a mill too...

                      Thank you for the advice.

Would these theoretical ACE boards include the plastic cap also? Those are tough to come by if you dont have one.

It would be mainly for replacing broken boards. Not lost parts. So probably not.

You would make more if it was a total replacement board and eye install. We all know the cost of components is low, so the cost to profit ratio would increase with the inclusion of the eye board and eye. Something you should consider.

I have 2 xmags with working boards. If it was reasonably priced Id pick up another. If not no big deal. I do not use my ace board as my hopper/warp can shoot faster than I can pull the trigger, and the level X always works. (note I only use semi mode, and have slow fingers.)
