would it? because I heard that even when not shooting, the halo drains batteries and if you put a micro switch between the battery and board, it would allow current to pass.

As I understand it the halob is a constant pressure stack, so turning it off might not help with functionality too much.

I cant see that helping at all. Theres not much power being used as long as paint is blocking the eyes so the motor doesnt run. The constant pressure is just spring tension from the drive cone.
