I think it's fine the way it is. "If it aint broke, dont fix it." Do you use co2, or compressed air. If co2, then leave it the way it is. You need the classic valve and regulator. if not, you can loose the reg if you want and get a lighter valve that can shoot a little faster also.

DO NOT! get an x-valve. if you plan on KEEPING the Mako/Booyah frame. those should be cap'd at 13bps if i remember correctly. so it would essentially be a performance boost completely wasted. infact the return pressure from the on/off assembly on the x-valve exerts more pressure then the classic valve. which in turn will have detrimental effects on that frame.(misfiring, missing shots)

as for the regulator. what pressure is it allowing through to the gun? hopefully around 700-900... otherwise you are just starving the gun. (im assuming you are using HPA since you have the SP-8)

the only REAL performance upgrade you can get for your gun as it stands RIGHT NOW would be the LX (Level 10 bolt) which is a mechanical anti chop bolt system that if installed correctly is damn near flawless.

so basically it comes down to do you want to spend a few hundred dollars? or spend $80 or so on a level 10 bolt kit and stick with what you got

You are a smart man; don't forget to take your own advice. No need to spend a weekend's worth of paint on some part that does nothing to improve your performance on the field. Taking the time to learn about your marker and maintain it will pay off every time you play. It's rare for me to play without taking the time to fix someone else's marker because they know nothing about it.

Nothing wrong with going hog-wild, either.

Definitely a Lv10 bolt. Also a decent hopper. Otherwise the marker is fine the way it stands.

Oh, and welcome to the cult of the mag.

                Update:

ELCD frame swapped for Intelli. Feels MUCH better.

Homemade drop forward changed for CP Razor drop with on/off.

Braided line swapped for black macro line.

Will be buying a foregrip from a fellow AO'er in the next day or two.

I guess I have been bitten by the Mag bug as I have a 2nd Mag (a Classic RT) on the way as well.

Will post before and afters in the photo thread when I can.

                Mike
