AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Solid gold would be nice... How about making a marker out of annealed steel? That'd look sweet, though it would probably dirty up everything you touched with it unless you polished it real good.
Seriously, though, probably aluminum. Light, durable (if it's not that poop SP uses), and takes ano. What more could you want? Maybe make the whole thing out of carbon fiber. DeadlyWind is probably working on it, they've got a CF fetish.
-ability to have and hold tolerance
-durability (kinda the same as the first)
-weight
-looks
if something looks good but cant hold up at all you might as well just put on a tux and throw paint if your worried that much about looks
AL is probably the best thing that we can really use at this point, some plastics might end up being better but we need to find those plastics, ceramics (if made the right way) might work well too but they would be expensive as anything. CF is getting more and more expensive and its really not that easy to work compared to AL, also the tolerances will be held by the resin more so than the CF itself.
it would be easier and more efficient to develop smaller marker designs than to try to replace parts with a crazy new material (not that it wouldnt be cool and anything but im just talking about efficiency).
