The vast majority of paintball-related patents are examined by Mr Ricci.
He has now been made aware of the tactics being utilized by SP to pass potentially illegal patents through the system. This "Gas through Grip" patent is still in the application process, so Mr Ricci can look at that one a little bit closer, and maybe see the "bigger picture", and realize what they are trying to accomplish.
Then who knows. Maybe an investigation will be started to review previous patents. The USPTO has said that they are going to be making MAJOR changes, so maybe, just maybe this will be a good way to show us they can talk the talk.

The USPO is where the argument belongs in the first place. If the argument is heard and the USPO is still going to let SP collect patents for every aspect of the market, at least we will not have to wonder about whether or not they should have those patents. In the end, patents are what the USPO and the attorneys make of them.
Every airtool I've ever seen has an air through grip. Adding a microcontroller to anything shouldn't be a patentable idea. What else would you do with a microcontroller?

Fixed it, because they haven't "done" anything worth patenting, unless it comes from other people, of course.Originally posted by bleachitsmart parts next patent: The idea of use of materials in making paintball products.Comment

Paging Tom KayeMy grandfather was a great engineer and my mother was one of the first women chemical engineers in the country. I suffered from dyslexia and had a hard time with the math and reading that was involved with the engineering program. No I am not an engineer, but I have a business degree, a MBA and a two-year machinist degree. I was always interested in engineering and can hold my own with most in the paintball industry.
