        Ah, that explains it...I'm from a Madeiran / Azorean background and have a hard time with the Brazilian accent

          So, anyways, still portuguese

          My grandparents were grown in Lisbon and came to Brazil in the 50s and I had an employee a couple of years ago that just arrived from Madeira at the time so I know what you mean when you say that the Portuguese accent is different from country to country.

              There's tons more Portuguese in Hawaii too, although they call themselves "Portagee", and typically speak Pidgin English. My grandma had the coolest accent.

                Really? I never heard of that! I mean, I knew there was this dialect called Pidgin English (although I never heard it) but I didn't know that it was from a Portuguese colonization.

                That's one of the good things in those forums. You always learn something either if it's paintball stuff or not.
