It seems like there is a race to the most bps. The puzzling part is where do you use this stuff? If fields and tourneys limit you what is the point? You tube videos?

Just like today's fancy fast cars. You can easily speed past 100 mph. But where? Not legally on a US highway. Only on a race track.

Having the fastest BPS than the other company is a huge selling point. Doesn't mean you will be allowed to shoot it at your local field but maybe if its at an uncapped ROF tournament.

Also paintball consumption is where the money is made. The faster your marker shoots, then you will have to buy more paint of course.

Its an arms race for sure. Paintballers just have an unending desire for the latest and greatest.

To sustain themselves, paintball companies keep coming up with new stuff to buy.

Just like cars - every year there's a new version of what you just bought.

The arms race in terms of BPS is over, fellas. Keep up with the times. It's all about keeping them small and affordable or about keeping them consistent and reliable/of high quality. It's funny how the majority of the market is split like that, yet my mag has all four qualities and I got it used several years ago!

Hoppers have gone beyond what is safe in terms of bps and are focused on minimizing profile while being easier to maintain. I'm holding out for a reliable underfeed system. I've drawn a few up but I don't have the time, money, or enough incentive to research the stuff. It'll happen some day, though. I just wish the AT-85 was redesigned by a tournament player, really!

I would really like to see a revolution leading to mechanicals and pumps pushing the electros back down. Guess I will have to keep dreaming though

And then what would the masses blame for their losses? Semis and pumps don't break down or go dead... And how would they buy an advantage over the newbies? You expect them to learn the S word?

Ultimately, the lack of a good aftermarket E-grip at reasonable prices and availability for Automags is what drives the pneumatic trigger market. If the automag had the rough equivalent of the E-blade available for it, nobody would be talking pneutriggers.
