Tough decision input needed

but I've used my emag all summer and it's been one of those had to have it to experiment type deals and now I wanna try somthing else. Never gave me any trouble and I've won countless games with it on mech mode. Ive always wanted a viking/invert mini since I've heard good about them and love the looks. I've also wanted to get another pump. but one of the higher end ones(loved my sniper 1 but pump stroke wasnt smooth at all and my c3 is problematic) So heres my situation...what do I do?
-Ive got posible interest in a carter buzzard trade, but dont know if a stock class gun could hold its own against the group I play again. I just think all the reloading/12g changes would leave me vulnerable. But it's the challenge that draws me in. but I've never held a carter/phantom and dont know if i'd like it.
-I love how cocker pumps look and enjoy shooting one but they are heavy. Problem with these is all the ones I want are had in the 3-400$ range and noones gonna want to ad $300 to a trade this time of the year.
-mini's and vikings I think would be more or less the same as the emag as far as volume but would just be different.

Any opinions on what I should do.
straight trade for a viking, or really high end pump, or maybe sell and buy both a mini and ccm'd cocker pump? cash always does speak greater than trades.

PS, no I'd never leave the mag communnity. I still have the "nightmag" which has been down and due to the emag i havent bothered to fix it, and i'm working on a UMF ULE pneumag.

Unless you play speedball exclusively (and if you can afford it) you should have a good shooting (not necissairly expensive) pump and a good shooting semi.

For pump I use a Tippmann SL2 (cheap, reliable, and accurate) and I use a Mag for semi. Occasionally I pull out the Typpmann FA for the full auto thing but I just got a set of emag lowers that I will start working into instead.

If you have a reliable mag and don't need the money you should keep it.

Carters are nice, But they are hefty. You're not required to use 12 grams on a Carter, you can run a 3.5 horizontally.

Carters run about $350-$600. So yeah, I would prolly look for someone who would add a lil cash to a carter package I were you.

This thread really speaks to me. I had an emag as my first "real" marker. I loved it. It was pretty close to exactly what I wanted. Then I felt the first pangs of gun-whorism. I started to lust after a viking as well. So after a loooooong time, I bought the viking as well. I realized something... The emag was an excellent marker, but the viking just got me. Even more reliable (yes, it is even possible), fast shooting, and it just felt right. I eventually sold my emag because I couldn't justify having a $550 paper-weight.

That pretty much cut out my gun-whorism. I tried out dm's, shockers, egos, ions, pm's, angels, cyborgs. Nothing quite fit the same way.

Then everyone started talking about pumps. Or so it seemed to me. I got really interested. I read up about them. I decided to take the plunge. Right about the same time I finally sold off my emag lowers, I dropped $400-500 on a sterling pump setup. Not the old one, the new Stock Class one. I like it quite a lot. It's smooth, convertable (feed and air source), and light. A bit lacking in the maintenance department, but I realize I'm just spoiled. It's really not that bad.

Now, I believe I'm satisfied. Sterling for pump play, viking for team practice. I'd say either way you go, you won't go wrong.

I've got a friend who wants to get into pump play as well. He's getting (possibly already bought) a phantom and a second body so he can switch between horizontal feed and hopper ball. I'd probably recommend that route if you're interested in a nice pump. The sterling works great for me, but the phantom is the most popular stock class pump for a reason.

EDIT: reread the thread and saw that you're not interested in stock class play. But have you considered comp class? Comp class means playing with either a hopper or a constant air source, like open class, but not both. I generally play with a 3.5 oz co2 tank and use 10 rnd tubes. It's a really nice compromise. I've got a pretty nice handicap, but I'm not worrying about reloading every 10 shots AND switching cartridges every 25. Carrying a pod's worth of paint on your back in tubes feels REALLY nice. It really does let you make that first bunker a lot easier.

yea, to tell you the truth I've never been a go out and join a team kinda guy. I enjoy just plain ole woodsball with a bunch of buddies. We have games ranging from 2-20 people and guns from tipps to higher end mags/electro's. Or ill just go to the local feild and be a walk on. Both of these arena's I seem to do very well and consider myself an accomplished player. The only guys I really strugle against are the pro's who are team practicing at the feild...against us. I've just got the pump bug and like you've said always lusted after a viking and mini.

I definately hear what you are saying as well, as I too am thinking about dumping my xmag and then picking up a viking. Bigevil is working on the valve for it right now and we will see how much I like it when I get it back, it won't be the first time I sold an x-mag and regretted it.

I have only played semi for about 5 years and now I am thinking about going back to the pumps. I used to play all the time with PGP's but I think perhaps a sniper might be fun to try or maybe a stock class phantom or buzzard.
