    New thoughts on the Fasta?

I'm looking into forcefeed hoppers, and noticed that there's still a lack of info on the kingman Fasta. When it came out last year, there was lots of "Will it live up to all the hype?" talk, but I haven't found a whole lot of time-tested reviews. Even all the reviews on pbreview.com are done by kids who upgraded from a gravity hopper.

And I thought about just picking up a used one, but they don't exist. (I've been watching eBay for a few days now, and none have showed up.) I'm sure I want to shell out $75 for a new marker just to try it out.

So, can anyone give a good review of the Fasta (preferably someone who's had one for a while and can compare it to other popular markers, like the Halo, Reloader, etc)? Are there any glaring weakness or shining strengths?

I bought mine at OK dday in the summer for 60$ and it has seen more then 20 outings since. i bought the 15 bps version, my friend has the better one, 23bps i think?

      hold 240 balls
mine takes 1 9v, and i get 2 full cases on a bat
buddies takes 2 9v and he gets a little less then 2 cases

its loud. not always running like vlocity jr's though
its top loaded, a little odd when your used to an it being angled
at 15 bps its pretty consistent once it gets going, but i do notice a very small lag time for it to kick in to full gear, that would be why the jr is always running.
im not to sure about the 23 bps version

its durable, mine fell off when i was in a sniper tower, hit the ground and was still pumpin out balls(broken ones at that ). hence why im buying clamping feednecks
      thats the tower...decent height

i would give it an 8.5 but because its really in its own category pricewise for a force fed hopper it gets a 9 out of 10

I knew your picture looked familiar Jade! I played against you in SPPL, for Nucleus... I ended up running around with the rocket launcher at the end, so you probably remember that bit.. sorry..

As for Fastas, I've gotten great reviews from Cal Gridlock, they are running them for SPPL and love them to death. I'd give them a thumbs up!

Lol, that might have been our game.. You guys rocked us for the first one or two respawns.. pretty awesome game. Your guys kept comingup our right side (your left tape), we'd never see them.. even in your bright crimson shirts..

And those were your booby traps? would have got me... but it pulled up the stake before it pulled off the band.. Just for fun, in the last 10, when we thought all your guys were out (there still was the one sneaky bastard by swing) I backed up everyone about the 15m and then took a potshot at the grenade with the rocket launcher.. then it went off
The refs came running over to stop play, turns out one of our guys was just inches outside the blast radius.. LOL.. Ref paced it off to him, was standing nose to nose with our guy, and just said "Son, you are one lucky man"

            What, Fastas?

Edit: I also was snapshooting with the rocket launcher on one of your respawns.. almost hit Curtis (head ref) in the head.. he still hasn't quite forgiven me on that one..

Thanks GH, but I was looking for used Fastas. I don't buy stuff new.

And thanks for the reply, JM. What about jams? Have any of those? The Fasta doesn't have a rip drive like Halos and Reloaders, so I was wondering how easily it gets itself out of trouble.

I can't say I've used any of the new force feed hoppers, only read about them. That being said, have you checked into a Qloader or a Warp Feed? Either one is technically a forcefed hopper, with the added benefit of mounting it wherever the hell you want it.

Have you looked at the Viewloader Eye Force?

I have one (probably selling soon) and for the money it's really good! I think it averages around $70 new.
Force fed w/ eyes and doesn't spin constantly like the VLocity Jr's so the batteries last a little while. Holds 200 rnds too. On-the-box specs give it a 20bps feed rate, but I never bothered to calculate it on my own. Doesn't support upgrade chips either, but that didn't bother me at all.

The only gripes I have are the looks and battery changing. You basically have to take apart the shell to swap batteries (only 3-4 screws though) but at least there's no chance of a door breaking off or falling out.

I recently "upgraded" to a VLocity Jr. w/ select force chip. My reasons were mostly cosmetic. I'd say that the Eye Force and VL Jr are very comparable in speed.

One thing I liked better about the Eye Force is the lid. It has a wide mouth and the lid spring is very good. Once you unclick the lid, it pops open quickly. My VL Jr is pretty weak in that respect.

Edit: I'd have to double check, but I think the Eye Force has auto-reverse on it too when it detects a jam.

Thanks for the suggestion, but honestly (and I'm probably going to get hazed for this), I always hated the look of both the Q loader and the Warp Feed. Plus, I know I would get annoyed loading the Q pods... and I don't want the extra weight of a warp feed.
