If you take an Automag to have it inspected for an f stamp, there is no guarantee that you will get the gun back. I have hade all of my equipment confiscated and torn apart. I got my stuff back when they discovered that I had done everything legally, but as a result, I'm registered with customs, and every package that comes to me from the states is opened and examined.
The funny thing is, the whole thing that got me in trouble was the E-mag battery pack, where it says'may explode if exposed to fire.; To show just how jittery(or incompetent) they are at customs, this battery was initially declared as an ingredient for making a bomb, and then my house got searched and so on.
Fact is, Automags have such a wide range of possibilities, that it is hard to classify it for German standards, that's why you could run into big trouble if you get the attention of the wrong (stupid) people.
Good luck doing whatever you do, all I know is I'm not playing paintball as long as I'm in this country,
Dan
