    Pnuemag is done-ish

finally got through the hard part of my pneumag. Its together and shooting, with all the major cutting and pasteing complete. All work done on my coffe table with a dremel and hand tools. Pretty much a basic pneumag, no fancy stuff. I made a bracket to hold the piston assembly since I dont have a press to do the set screws right (tapped the exhaust port and drilled a new port for the gas to use), drilled and grooved the rail so that the hose could flow from the T. Haveing the lpr attached to the valve is kind of a pain, but not horrible.

Also tapped the safety hole and put a set screw in. This is one of the best things ive done and it took about 1 minute. No more loosing springs and bb's and you can adjust the tension that your safety has, its pretty nice.

next step is to put a magnet return in the trigger (so if anyone has done one and has advice...). Im also picking up a q loader tomorrow from someone locally, so I might try to find a warp left body and see what I can screw up.

Anyways people always asked for pics when i was done, so here they are...

Great job for not having access to even a drill press.

With the LPR hose going through the rail like that, you better hope you don't have to change o-rings that often. It looks like it will be difficult to get the valve out of the body and off the rail.

I didn't notice the LPR at first, that's a nice LPR to have hanging back. You'll want to do something to round up the supply hose to keep it from fighting with your sear. It looks like it would get nibbled on eventually.

The hot rod car guys used to get nice chrome tubing fittings somewhere. We need to find a good looking tee for pneus.

That's an interesting bracket, what did you make it from?

Nice.... I thought about mounting the LPR besides the valve. That will definitely get some weird looks at the fields.

Clippard do Nickel fittings, i have swivel elbows in mine. I distinctly remember seeing "T" fittings and all manner of nickel fittings. Not chrome i know but they're still pretty shiny!

                  answers

You know I stayed away from PE thinking they were low end and bought a guerilla air reg and put it on a SP tank, but it leaked out of the threads of the burst disc, so i traded it in on a max flow micro, but it leaked out of the high pressure guage port. so far the PE is the only tank I have had that holds air, so they rock in my book.

I made the bracket out of stainless. Just bought a small sheet from the hardare store. Took about 3 attempts to get a good pattern set down for mounting screws and such.

I made the hole in the rail where it drops down into the frame so that its just big enough for the hose and cut a small channel in the side of the frame so the hose clears the sear. doesnt touch right now, but ill keep an eye on it just in case.

takeing off the valve is kind of a pita, but its not too bad, i just disconnect the hose from the msv and it comes out with the valve. If it gets too annoying ill just drill a hole in the top of the frame and run it down to there, then i can easily disconnect the hose on the lpr side. was going to look at the push connects beeswick makes and see if it could be run more like a macro setup.

I'll prob pick up a better fitting soon, i am going to paint it black but copper still gets nasty even painted.

Burst disc problems are pretty easy to deal with. Just tighten it down.

you wont need an adjustable tank with a pneu setup since their is no rt effect with a pneu.
and in my experience pure energy tanks are good, very fast recharge, similar to a crossfire.

                          burst disc

yah tried tightening the disc, and replaceing it. I dont mess with stuff when its brand new I took it back to the shop I got it from and they determined it was faulty. We think the threads were damaged or something. Honestly I blame myself, I know better than to buy something nice and new. even my friends joke that I could buy a brand new Ferrari and get a slow one.
