i know this is far fetched...

but i was hoping that somebody could help me ID a barrel without a pic.

i'm looking for info on a barrel, (most likely a two piece) where porting is replaced by spiral cut grooves running the length of the area where porting would normally be.

much like a longer version of the small spiral freak tips i've seen lately.

    can anyone help??

i am looking to buy one, but it woiuld help to thow what to ask for!

Are you talking about a Hammerhead? I'm pretty sure those have rifling on the second half or something.

neh, he is talkin about a much older barrel, I think it was called a Nightstik or something like that It was literally cut all the way through the barrel. ( there is a 32 degree barrel called th eNightstik, but this one pre-dated that by several years )

Not sure why you are looking for one.... but there is a reason they dont make them anymore.

think of it like somebody connected all of the ports on a teardrop. instead of holes in a spiral shape, it's a solid groove all the way through.

styg, i'm sure they're terrible. but it would look great on one of my next projects.

                    yuppers

correct that exactly what he is talking about - I believe they only cam ein black

A friend of mine had one given to him from a Joes Army Navy surplus for his F-1 Illustrator.

It was so bad he took it off in the middle of the game and chucked it into the swamp.

It's killing me cuz I cant rememebr the exact name of the barrel, and I can see it in my mind so perfectly - Have you tried MCB? The guys over there would deffinately know the name of it.

                        Beat me to it.

Out of production for quite a while IIRC.
