Ive had or tried just about everything except the new Magna. I pick and choose between my Halo/Victory board or Vlocity Jr for just about every situation.

-EggII couldnt keep up with any of my guns. (I had a period where I admit I threw way too much paint) Was also fragile and would break battery doors and lids with alarming frequency.

-Pulse - Never seemed to live up to its hype. Ive also seen many broken shells, and heard people complain about being able to get parts for whatever reason.

-Reloader B - looked like a good option. I forget what gun, but I did have issues with the sound activation.

-Vlocity Jr. Good bang for the buck. Eat batteries. Feeds pretty good with fresh ones. Pretty bad with not-fresh ones.

-Halo w/victory board. My favorite loader. Heavy, but keeps up very well. The one main complaint was like already mentioned - break a ball in it and your dead. However the "suicide' type shells that open from the top help that issue out greatly. I also had some issues with dark shell paint that were remedied when I discovered the eye adjusting pot on the board.

in my experience with hoppers, halos are bottom of the barrel by far, they seem to crap out pretty quick, whether its a fried board, motor, eyes, or it just plain will not work no matter what you do...

I have used Velo's, they are good, but they stick up so damn high, and I have broken a few balls in the raceway, which was very frustrating mid game.

Empires are aweosome, they have very similar parts to a halo (well the same except no eyes and different board) but for some reason they just seem to keep on keepin on without any trouble, and they are a lot better on batteries than most.

my personal favorite is the pulse, though you cannot get them really anymore, they were just ok without a RF, but if you can find one, then they are by far the most responsive, and trouble free hopper you can get (if your shell breaks transfer the internals to a halo/empire shell, and it will work fine)

I shoot an Empire B. I bought it because I was impressed by the design of the shell. I don't ever foresee that plastic breaking, especially the feedneck (double stacked, really strong). The sound activation works great, even on my impulse which is kind of quiet.
