AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I'm sure this has been covered numerous times, but what is a good reliable place to send my tanks to get hydro tested. I searched but did not find any information on this.
1st choice: Local paintball store, local diving store, local fire extinguisher testing place. Place like this one too: http://www.mandhfire.com/ but you should find one locally, much easier that way.
2nd choice : Cross fire, http://www.crossfireinc.com/ , any other major paintball tank company. I think they have a list somewhere on the nation.
Well I haven't looked at the addy for Crossfire but I just sent a box o tanks to HydroTester since they are just a few miles north of me (few hundred that is) I've heard good things about em so hopefully it'll be verified.
i just got one of my tanks back from hydro after sending it to crossfire. Quick and cheap.
The have an online coupon on their sight, actually right on their form.
30 bucks for hydro and shipping back to me.
My friend and next-year roomate just hydro'd two tanks at hydrotester.com a couple months ago. I believe it was pretty quick turnaround. That's where I've always seen people pointed when I see this question come up.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...
:shooting: :cuss:
Just be sure to inform them to be careful with the tank. Last time i sent my flatline and tank to the fire test place, it came back with some marks on it, probably from the wrench they used to take it apart.
$16 testing, you send via UPS with a return label, easy simple and fast. I've had great experience with them. You can ship UPS and buy the return label at the UPS store, ask the UPS store clerk, they'll know what you are asking for.
Could someone answer a question about how hydro testing works and the longevity of the tanks?
I bought a used tank in '03 that was out of hydro test, had it tested and then only filled once. Then I went to college and never used it again. It is now obviously out of hydro test again, and I hope to sell it. My question is, with only one use since the last test 5 years ago, it should likely pass? I plan to retest it before selling but am just curious before I send it off somewhere.
Tanks have a LIFESPAN of only 15 years as it is. So depending on the YEAR the tank was BORN/MADE depends on whether or not it's worth it to get it hydro'd.
If it was made initially in 2003 then you have until 2018 to use the tank technically. If it was Hydro'd last in 2003, then you'll need to get it hydro'd again since 08 is dead and gone.
You can also look up the tank number and info if you go to the HydroTester.com website. They have alot of info there and should answer most of the questions you have.

Well actually only Fiber wrapped tanks have a 15 year life span. Aluminum tanks are good as long as they keep passing hydro per DOT.
