        Not really. 04 vikings dont have anymore issues than 03 (aside from some people like the older detents better) and 04 excals are far more sought after than 03s.

          03 models of both guns use 010 urethane o-rings in the cartridge that last for years and years. The detent on the 03 is trouble free and indestructible.

          The 04 models use a buna quad o-ring that while a little smoother will not last as long as the 010 urethane.

          The 03 models have a better system for retaining the bolt pin. The 04 uses a little ball bearing and spring where the 03 uses a machined retaining screw that is easier to pull and locks into place.

          The 04 models are a little smaller and a little lighter. Some people like the internal LPR and the 03 has a bigger volume chamber.

          My 2 cents and why I like the 03 models better.
