Just to get this out of the way: I wont buy it. I don't plan on owning any smart parts items, ever. I don't like what the company has done/is doing to the sport.

Aside from the steep price tag, this is a step in the right direction. They're trying something new, putting something out there that hasn't been done before. It actually seems really neat. When you lift up the chrome piece on the back, the marker degasses completely and you're able to take the whole bolt assembly out in one piece to tech it. It is noticeably smaller than the shocker. You can run this gun with the gas through the grip or in a standard inline reg + macroline setup.
Yes, it is unfortunate that these are SP funded, but I'm pretty sure they will be quality. The plan is to release them only to certain DLX certified dealers, and/or custom order them straight from DLX. They really are taking this thing seriously, I doubt they're using the velveeta aluminum from the past.Remember, nitrogen hits harder!

-also curious how it works as from the looks it appears they may have either used the max flo platform or a myth like reg and attached it to an on/off.
and why not just make it attach to the gripframe? the dovetail adapter looks out of place and bulky.
also curious as if thats polished aluminum or shiny plastic parts

besides being able to completely disassemble the gun. it sounds like it is an updated shocker with a gas through grip. other then that, it has a talking board (ditch the board and software and easily save a few hundred)t33kyboy "So if a cat is dropped from 11 inches, it will most likely die."Comment

Can anyone think of anything else? I'm guessing its just a means of creating some hype and jacking up the price.....probably remove it next year to make it "new and lighter"
If they somehow integrated a 2 way radio into it, that would be cool for scenario games, but I doubt thats the market they are aiming for.Comment

Having a high end subdivision is a pretty successful sales gimmic, like lexus for toyota. Maybe SP will offer free service plans with those markers, like a netflix service for a chrome plated ion. Mail it in and get another one back. They could offer a programming service as well. Lease plans, financing, SP is poised for the future.
Maybe the speaker is there to help the visually impaired player program the marker.
It's a niche market, but you gotta take what you can. Or they could use it to make all sorts of neat sounds when you pull the trigger, in case you wanted a machine gun, phaser, blaster, etc. for your $.
