    Need Opinions on ASA.

What would look better to you guys on a 68 Classic Mag, an ASA with on/off (This One.) or an on/off ASA with a drop foward (This One.)

I had the psychoballistics one be4, it made my mag feel too short....so I switched to deadlywinds rail/asa, it felt perfect for me. Also the deadlywinds asa/rail is the only one that ive found that lets the front 1/2-3/4" of the tanks reg(crossfire) slide under the rail....which is nice cause it gives a little room for adjustment.

But really it will depend on how you are built, and how you like to hold the marker. Those 2 asa's will produce a big difference in the feel of the gun. Also the psychoballistics uses a different rail milling, so you wont be able to pick up a cp rail(or any other) to mount the psyco asa below your frame.

I believe Mags are one of the few markers that actually look good with a drop forward but that of course comes with the prospect of being called a noob for using one. Anyways, I'll check out the deadlywinds rail/asa.

Still looking for other players input so keep it coming!

my opinion is get the cp 2k5 asa it's easier to twist off when the gun is gassed up. i've had problems with the trinity asa's.

Drops go with mags, like peanut butter goes with jelly. As far as being called a noob, doesnt happen that often with a gun from 1996.

**edit the dead-on drop is the same as the psychob drop.

I have had the dead-on on a classic. The balance is very nice, but I found it a little too high and short. It is also heavy and while it's easy to one-hand on occasion, it became very heavy after half a day because it doesn't rest on your arm or shoulder well.

That said, I'm still having trouble adapting to HPA as a back bottle since I have run remotes for years. I have been working with rail mounts lately, but I don't like turning my body sideways when I pull the gun in close.

I ordered a Trinity from action, but they sent one that was not what was pictured and it had the air port in the center of the knob, which didn't fit my setup at all. They were good and took it back.

Other than the Trinity's, you might look at the CP website. They have a good selection, and if you find something you like there, you can shop around for it or buy from them. We have a couple in the house and they work well. I think it's customproducts.us They have some mean looking yo-yos too.

If you get the dead-on, keep an eye on the knob. Mine came used without one. I made a knob and it got lost. A team mate let me use his. When I asked him when he needed it back, he wasn't worried because it was just a piece he found while playing.

What size tank do you use?
the bullet drop with a 48 ci tank puts almost all the tank under the gun
if youve got a big tank, 88/90/114, then the rail mount is probably going to feel to long
I run an 88 and I like a drop inbetween those choices

I appreciate the amount of feedback. Its nice to be able to post a question without having to risk people turning it into a flame war, like on pbnation.

                  211, to answer your question i have 68/45 and a steel 72ci 3000psi tank.

I think i may be leaning more towards using a drop forward, any suggestions?

If you do, you might want to get a smaller one. Much smaller.
Having a tank is like having a stock, and it makes it SO much easier to play with. MAYBE get a small drop with the 68/45, but the 72 will be way too short with a drop.

Two months ago, i bought a SP on-off with rail. The new 1/2 turn lever kind. Although i haven't played a game with it yet, i already love it.

I like the CP lightning drop forward. The one that moves your tank forward 2 inches. Its just something different that not alot of Mags i have seen use. I've noticed from looking at the Mag pictures in the forums that way more people have a drop forward set up on their mags then a typical rail and ASA.

It seems like 90% of the Mags in the pictures on pbnation have this drop forward. Who makes it and whats so special about it?

that drop is slightly adjustable front/back
I find it makes a gun real tall, yeh I have one
if your only using a 68/70 then the psychob drop is probably going to be to big
they do make one thats smaller it looks the same just about half as deep
