    Elizabeth:
    ...the 'drama' shot...lol.

    New Netting area:
It is compartmentized with net walls. There's a safe area for spectators, chrono/range and a tech area.

      Nut shot!!!
      Poor, poor cop....MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

      Redesigned field:
We shifted our field and got most of the bunkers up but we still need to add 6 or 10 in the open spots...

Great pics, looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I like the story (except for the part where you switch from the Ion to the Mag.)

Tough way to go with a neck shot on her first day. Well, if she comes back now shes hooked for life.

I can't wait till my daughter is old enough to play.. in about 12 years. It'll be a nice family affair. Sounds like Lizzy is a real trooper. Does she get some Vambraces, and grieves also? Those things look awesome.

I remember when I took my daughter to play for the first time when she was 10. I let her shoot the Alias and first, I just kind of ran around between the bunkers to let her get a feel for shooting at me. I left my butt out as a target for her and she tagged me good. Totally made her day. She did take one in the collar bone though. Her eyes got red and welled up a bit but she wouldn't cry. There is nothing better than being able to play paintball with your kids.

Thanks we did. As far as the Ion --> Mag...in my defense, I did have a new board to Beta for the manufacturer. I can't let them hang for weeks on-end without knowing my thoughts and reactions unless I use it...lol.

What I will say though is...that green tub you see in the pics has 8 other markers in it...and they aren't Mags...but I chose my Classic over them

Start her off teching/cleaning gear and safety and expectations at about 9 yrs old. That way she's familiar with your gear and has a good attitude going in the gate.
As for the Braces and Greaves...I actually thought about that but I really want to wait and see if this is truly what she wants to do. I will be making her a leather neck-guard to match my armor but she's very petit and yet still growing. If I make her Braces and Greaves now, they may not fit properly in the next few years. I guess I could make them to touch at the underside of her arm, that way they can expand as she grows but the Greaves I made for me use 3 bands of elastic on the back side. If she grows too much, they won't fit for length or diameter properly. And thanks...lol.

I'm really jealous about the field. Netting? Chrony/target shooting area? *southern accent* Damn, that's just fancy right there. */redneck*

LOL...yeah. Netting wasn't as expensive as we thought. We also have an 8' tupperware locker to hold the CO2 fill station, we made a table out of 4 wooden pallets for chrono and there's a 30' trailer (camper style) that we are going to be dragging down there for storage and covered tech or break area. The floor of it is rotted out but the steel framing and beams are still intact so we need to replace the flooring but I figured about 8 sheets of 3/4" plywood would complete that task.

The play area that's pictured is a span of about 65 yards long x 45 yards wide that we clear-cut and we're going to be expanding the field out further (the width direction) and then color code all the fields with 2"x2" stakes. Eack field will be slightly different from each other in that different terrains will be utilized. West of that field is fairly thick briar and other dense mess and further west of that are a grove of 2-4" thick trees.

One of our players owns a junk yard and is wanting to gut some cars and them of engines/drivetrains and their interiors. He'd drop the shells off so we have car/truck/etc bunkers free of charge. I also thought about taking rimless tires and dropping them over trees topped off at about 6 feet so there were "field appropriate" vertical cylinders between the cars too.

I don't know you, so I rofl'd when your first pic was loading and I saw this rough bearded guy and then as the picture loaded downward it suddenly shows you were wearing a camo kilt...

Hey my first hit was on my neck too! IMO that is the best place to get hit for the first time, because now that she has experienced the worst, she won't be afraid of any other hits.

Yep. AO is a premier forum with a more mature (for the most part) membership. As far as I've seen, the "young bucks" here act 500% more mature than the over 35 crowd on Nation.

I'd never post a story like this on Nation. I hate Nation almost as much as most people here hate SP...
