Would you buy a NEW Fireblade E-mag Trigger?

    Hello AO!
Obviously I'm posting this for a reason. At this time I don't have all of the details worked out so for now...

Yes I would purchase a new fireblade for my emag, but only if it had a bearing.

would this one be made to agd spec? personally i dont like the magnet used and is alot harder to make the trigger pull tight without bounce unless the return force is hard.

I would assume that it would be the same as the last one. Some people can make them smooth as silk, and some cannot. IMO it is the user not the hardware. Same thing goes with the tunablade and TL-63

I would depending on the price. If it's the same as it was originally I might shy away. But that's only because I already have a Tunablade and I'd like to try the look and feel of a Fireblade before I decide which one I'd rather have.

i agree, i can get it to be very soft and smooth, however the magnet is larger and thusly activates the hes easier, so you cannot get the trigger to be a hairs length stock, if you swap out the magnet then it is possible.

You know, the magnets in the original Fireblades were exactly the same as the magnets in the stock trigger.

They were (and would be again) purchased directly from AGD.

Where'd you hear that the magnet is stronger from?

the one on the fireblade I have pulls more, wish i had the equip to prove, probablly has been replaced by a non spec magnet then by a previous owner.

Ah, you're talking about the magnet that returns the trigger, not the one that activates the HES, right?

If the inconsistent pull from frame to frame is what you're talking about, I have found that some frames have the magnet well in the frame cut slightly deeper than others. It doesn't take much aluminum to change the pull feel with a magnet as small as we're using. A few thou one way or another, and your pull will change drastically.

You can tune the pull by stacking orings or tiny sheaves of paper under the magnet in the frame if you find the pull to be too strong. If it is too weak, you can use two magnets in the frame to boost it and then orings and paper to reduce it down to where you want the pull to be.

It takes some tinkering, but it is certainly possible to tune the pull weight.

If I was designing the emag frame from scratch, I'd use a set screw where that well is in the frame, so you could just run the magnet up or down to suit your tastes in pull weight.

no this is the hes magnet,, i have used tiny orings inplace of paper.

The way I typically tune a emag trigger are as followed

1 adjust where you want the trigger to stop (this is done by adjusting the set screw on the m/e selector switch.

2 get xmod, and get to the part where you can see when your trigger is activated.

3 screw in the magnet on the trigger untill the little box is lit up

4 adjust the return force of the magnet by placing hole punch size pieces of paper in the hole to move the magnet up and down.

Sometimes the magnet on the trigger has to be screwed in too far (regardless of what trigger you are using), and you will have to adjust the trigger stop more. In this case you would just readjust the trigger stop, and restart the whole process. Hope this helps in tuing your emag trigger.

Also, sometimes, if the On/Off point is too close to the "OMFG!!!! Runaway!!!!!" point, you can flip the HES magnet on the trigger and this condition will go away. I've seen this on a number of Emags in person.

I've also seen HES that wouldn't register the magnet at all until you flipped it over.

I'm not familiar enough with the construction and design of the HES to say exactly why one or the other happens, but both have been personally observed by myself.

I like the magnet/adjust used in the Fire-blade. I feel the adjuster Allen is very small and ive seen more then one stripped out.

Personally I have not had issue with runaway on any of my 3 E-mag frames.

Lets see some more votes guys.

Personally I like a straight trigger better than a curved one
