I was just curious if anyone still uses a Nelspot 007 it seems like you never run into those ont he field anymore. The one we have (or what we have of it) is in pieces in the basement, was just curious if anyone still uses these grand daddies. Kinda miss some of these old guns.

I put them down after the first time the bolt handle on a rental shredded my knuckle. That's what made me buy a piranha long barrel. No more tilting for me, I was hi tek. -
That was the first marker I ever played with back in '87. We had home made pump handles made out of PVC. It sure beat the hell out of trying to re-cock with that little knob.Comment

Remember the body shroud with folding stock and the barrel extensions?
I foolishly turned my 007 into a TASO Spartan and used it as a loaner. Still have it and it even still has the giant battle grips with the 12g hole in the right grip filled in with epoxy.
Those old guns were just a pain to adjust velocity with spring swapping.Comment

I just got a project 007 that I'm hoping to put to good use, and I'd like to get another nicer one. I've actually used a Splatmaster though, several times. Kinda a similar piece of history.Comment

I still use it for small games or when I plan on doing something stupid and need the mobility.
I've had people ask me if the hole in the battle grips was so I could change the battery easier

I re-built this one a couple of years ago for a pump game at Fox 4 in Mass. It shot like a champ that day. The last game of the day we played semi vs pump, and one of the kids I shot with that gun was amazed it weighed as much as his CNC'd electro aluma whatever it was.
I made the grips myself out Mahogany.
I still break it out occasionally but I mostly play with a Phantom stock class pistol these days. That's a nice Nelson based gun. That's the only gun I played with last year, even in scenarios.
Why don't you fix yours up??? It's only steel, easy to paint.

Because i've seen his, it's his dad's old one and it's just got the body, no top tube (made it so it could have a hopper) and the pump handle, internals and the trigger frame are missing. Lol its more of a matter of willpower and going through boxes and def is in need of more then tlc, id rather just buy a new one. Im to lazy to dig for the pieces in boxes its been years since ive had them out last so it won't be found anytime soon, but at least i do know that the pieces are there lol. For what it's worth, that one was a bit of a basket case when I got her. If you have all the parts it;s more a matter of cleaning everything up, new seals etc. Rust is the worst thing on Nelspots. I painted the steel like they did originally, I didn't powdercoat it like a lot of people do. It cost me nothing except a Sunday afternoon.
A "new" one, at least mint condition would go for about $150. Decent shape maybe $100. they're still out there though, they made a lot of 'em.

I've got a super beat-up nelly that's been fully upgraded internally:
It's got LAPCO medium bolt/hammer, lapco #6 powertube & cupseal, lever quickchange (the wheel pictured is gone) with cut out cartridge well and an extended barrel with rain cover.
Came to me with all this in the barrel (yes, three marbles) and still shot 299 first shot across the chrono! With the new internals I've had over 50 shots above 260 fps at room temp.
