First time I used them, they fogged up pretty bad. Is the fan worth buying or is there another way to fix the problem? And no, stop breathing is not an option!

get the thermal lenses...they never fog up unless they get old and the rubber seal between the panes get damaged. I bet you have a single pane lense on your mask.

Well if you are not willing to stop breathing, then your best bet is to sell them. I used them for a while, even changed out the lens and added a fan. No luck. I just bought a pair of JT Spectras, from action village, and they came with a free fan for $40. I used them the last time that I played, and it was about 65-70 out. I was sweating, but they didn't fog at all. Can't say the same for the Invisions. I think part of the problem is that the DYE Invisions are heavy and the lens area is sealed off, pretty much. Not very good ventilation. Just my opinion.

can you tell by looking at them if they are thermal?

Yes, there should be a rim of foam in the lens. You will notice that there are 2 lens.

IMO JT and DYE goggles are crap. V-Force and Empire/Vents have pretty much destroyed anything JT and DYE can make. Grab a pair of Profilers or Avatars, you will not be disappointed.

profilers are great till the coating on the lenses wear off, or its raining, they fog pretty bad then, but it is pretty durable, and lasts about 6 months...I still rely on my old Flex 8's for a backup when my profilers start to fog, which is very rare...

Now I use Vforce profilers, really nice, but in rain they blow. I considered the vents, but they don't seem to have enough vent ports along the face so I'm sticking with the profilers.

I replace mine every spring.

Depends, I replace mine as soon as I feel they are no longer "safe". I keep a spare for both masks in my bag so the game where they take a scrach or start to have stress marks on them anywhere...out it goes and in with the other. I also keep 2 of each lense because one is clear and the other is smoke (or for the profilers the photocromatic....which is awesome, I'm still supprized no one else does that).

I give my lenses a good inspection when I clean them after each outing, and if I have any doubts away it goes. A lense can be replaced, my eyes can't...so even if I do trash a lense before it's time I don't really care, it's only what....$30 for nice lenses?

ive used jt's for years and never had them fog. there thermal lense seems to be the best. ive used them for big scenario games and the sppl and never had a problem. i do have a pair of dye i3 pro's that do fog alot but being sponsored by dye i have to use them. i just use antifog that i put on the lense about twice a day when im playing all day and the dye mask is fine. i wish i could use my jt's but the i3 will do. go with jt or vforce and youll be fine.

maybe cause i've been playing forever, but those still kick *** IMO. I picked up a *new* pair 3 yrs ago for $20 with thermal, work great today just like then.
