Probably around 11 or 12 years old.Originally posted by questionfulWhile someone who can answer that is at it, can you tell me how old RT01647 is?Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.

Well for those valves we just went from the fact that it's one of the first thousand in the series, and so it was most likely made in the first year that the gun came out.Originally posted by chafnerjrHow does one discern the age of the valve? Mine is vv04298 just out of curiosity... it's also a pewter.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.

Well CF seems to be AIR valves and classics i'm pretty sure, and then there's RT which is what is on classic RTs, and then the rest are on different valves, and i don't know what each one stands for. I know VV or whatever is for an x-valve, though i don't know enough about them to tell you when yours was made.Originally posted by chafnerjrCool... so does any one know what the two letters designate?

Thats awesome. We (Groovy and I) had a guy show up this weekend with two guns he needed teched. I guess he hadnt played in a long time and wanted to pick it back up. One was an autococker, the second was a mag with that serial number. I went about trying to tech teh mag, but couldnt get it fully working. Still, after pulling apart the gun, and scraping off teh decade old paint and rust, it still held air just fine, and cycled, but was leaking down the barrel. As it always is, neither Groovy or myself had and spare classic parts with us. So Groovy now has it and will be fixing her up. Still, i was awed by the serial number, and pinned it in early 90s, both by the low number and teh fact that it just looked REALLY old.
Glad to see we were right.

Oh and it still works. All I've done to it was replace the ASA and turn down the velocity so it didn't vent out the back. All I need is a chronograph to make sure it can shoot at 285.
