I think we need an age / serial thread, maybe a sticky. This question keeps getting asked over and over. If we get enough people to post their serials and the year they bought the gun we can get a pretty decent list going. For example, I'm the original owner of a 'Mag that I bought in 1995 and my serial is CF 323**.
Valve age?

i can post serials, but both of my mags are used. I bet a lot of other people on here are in the same boat, pretty much only the older guys will be able to give out that info.Originally posted by JaanI think we need an age / serial thread, maybe a sticky. Shouldn't AGD have this information somewhere? At least from when people register their guns for the warranty.
Does anyone have a real good idea of the rate at which classic RT's were made? I need to know I'm right when I tell them my gun is more than 10 years old.

That would put my 68Automag A.I.R. valve # CF00390 being made in 1990 then.Originally posted by AGDThat valve is about 1991. We only made about 1000 the first year.
AGD
I think I'll keep it !

Rentals did have serial numbers on them, I just looked at on the other day in the 15,xxx range that had "FIELD RENTAL" engraved on it. I didn't notice any stars though...

If it has the Automag logo burned into it then its stolen and the numbers were polished off. If it has no engraving then its a prototype valve or all the engraving was polished off.Originally posted by DevilManWhat about a classic valve that has NO NUMBER OR STARS at all on it??? Does that make it really really old??? Or just a rental??? I thought even rentals were numbered... just not star'd.

or JusticeGuy you could say your valve is CFM0014, either way, I think the CFM sounds cooler, but its still not real old, probably 8 years just going by when it was bought origionally.

AGD
UH OH!!!! I've got hot goods... It does have the Automag Classic burned into it on the left side. Just nothing on the right side where the numbers should be. I'll look at it real close tonight to see if I can tell if it's been polished off or not.
So by stolen you mean from AGD??? Or just stolen from someone and then polished off so there is no way that it can be proven who's it was. Like a private party stolen one. I'm thinking the latter, but I don't know if AGD actually has a database of where the numbers actually got shipped to or not.
That would be another incredible task to take up. Find out where each valve was sent originally to see where it is now.
Thanx TK!!!
