AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
But its the mag classic, it the gun that gave the company the name. If we see a mini-mag or proclassic go out, there is some reason to to concern. These markers. that made AGD famous.
We need some straight talk.
That is like asking why WGP doesn't make a '99 Cocker anymore, or why Smart Parts no longer produces the Impulse. Sure the Classic was great, but the X-Valve is a vast improvement...
I do however share the concern. It seems knowbody knows for sure what is going on at AGD anymore without Tom at the helm...
What happends when the rt goes out? What will be the AGD excuse then. Little by little stock is being eliminated and not replenished. This is a strong pattern that has been going on.
That is absurd. The classic is outdated, it's not worth buying new, and it's been around for 18 years. And "excuse"? You sound like you think AGD is conspiring to rid us maggers of a place to buy mags or something. That's ridiculous. Why would AGD want to stop selling RT's? It's their main product. It's the reason they exist. It's selling fine and will be for a looong time.
BTW, how come the dude that took over for Tom never posts about stuff? Does he come on the forums?

Dave has made a few posts, but he isn't nearly as AO active as Tom has been. It was nice to always have somebody letting us know how things were going...

There's no reason to replenish stock of Classic 'mags. They were probably just about as expensive to make as the RT-Pros, they just don't sell for as much because they're rather outdated (and this is coming from a guy who uses a Minimag as his primary). It makes much more sense for AGD to focus on the RT-Pro, which they are and will continue to produce because it's the major mover in AGD's store.

Zupe doesn't seem to give a crap about this whole internet thing. I expect there are some others who pass along the relevant info, but he doesn't seem to think that the online community is as important as TK thought.
I was actually browsing the AGD Store last night and noticed that the classic mag was taken off. It would be nice if this was temporary, but is there any verification on if it is or isn't?
The revolutionary gun that is a true classic goes out with not even a whimper? At minimum Tom Kaye should make an offical announcement to recognize it's accomplishments. The legacy of the Automag shouldn't go out like a chump!
I feel kinda mad about this. And disappointed. It's like not having a funeral for your parents or something.
There's a paintball shop here that has a bnib hopper right non-powerfeed Automag. The valve hasn't even had fittings in it yet. If anyone's interested, pm me and I'll give you more info. Also they have a bnib rt mag.
