Did Xmags have an option of duel detents?

While looking through some olds pictures of xmags I realized that I saw some xmags with dual detents. I was wondering if this was an option when people bought the guns and if it is rare or not. Also, I realized that some xmags have a hybrid battery pack. (Standard pack but the rail that connects the battery to the frame is milled down like on the CnC version.)

Not sure about the double detents, i have 2 Xmags and both have single detents. The battery pack milling was standard on PTP batterypacks, and some owners of the regular packs mill the rails off. (i also did this with my emag) Also here im not sure if this was an option available trough AGD.

dual detents were done bye rrfireblade i believe as well as a few other great techs, not an option from agd,

the milling on the battery packs that you are reffering to is stock for xmags with ule milled lowers, there were quite a few that came with ule lowers and non cnc packs. the black xmag you pictured was non ule and the silver one was ule

This was my gun. It started life as an Emag, then I upgraded the Xmag body, ACE milling, modular breaches and an X valve as an upgrade later on. If you notice it also has the hump on the grip frame which true Xmags dont.

I loved that gun.

Not true. The early europeon X mags had the hump. If you look just in front of the field strip valve screw you will notice the hole to adjust the pot for the ACE. The ACE is wired on the main board too.

That's a odd place to fit a potmeter.... And, if that's a early euro Xmag, why does it have the CNC body? To my knowledge the first ones had a STD body like this one:

The X mag I pictured was my first one. I purchased it from a guy i the UK. This was an older version but not one of the E mag Extremes which was what the very first X mags were called. Those were all non CnC bodied as you mention.

You are correct, and I wasnt overly hopeful my memory served me well enough to do its job.

Although I do remember at the time alot of emag owners and non c&c owners over here getting the same upgrade I did (I was at AGDEurope most weekends for 6 years) so that must account for a good chunk of them.

Funny thing is, that this STD Xmag i posted also came into my possesion from the U.K. Honestly i don't know much about all of the history that goes behind the Xmag, but i believed the STD Xmags were the first ones to come out.

Maybe i have been thinking wrong all this time, but i've only been playing since 2005, so i'm no expert on this matter.

One thing I have been curious about is: what keeps the breach of an x-mag in place? Does screwing in the barrel keep it snug enough or is there some other magical feature that I am unaware of? I just think that a halo would be quite a lot of weight to support if the only thing holding the breach in place is the barrel.

Yup, it's just the barrel holding her in place...and yes, with a halo I personally had some issues where I had to make sure to hold the breech still while screwing in my barrel or else the bolt would not fire quite right..one of the reasons why I decided to give up on my dream of keeping my X-mag...that and I'm an unrepentant gun whore...
