    Got my first RT

I had originally planned on cleaning this up and selling it, but now I'm not so sure. I may have to let another gun go instead.

This is what it looked like when I received it this morning from another AO member:

One of the previous owners decided to spray paint it black and the paint was "well worn" to say the least. I took a good bit of it off with some lacquer thinner and it cleaned up pretty well. The anno is obviously worn but I still think it looks better now. In any case, after a few hours in my semi-capable hands and with some extra stuff I had laying around, this is the result:

You can see some of the black paint still on the grip here. Can I safely use Lacquer Thinner on a Carbon Fiber frame?

In any case it's a nice little shooter and came with a Level 10 bolt. The trigger seems much more responsive than my emag valve with RT on/off.

She looks rough but she looks good.

That's an oldie too, the foregrip mount on mine has a bit cut out so that you could put a trigger guard between it, maybe for a z-grip? I dunno, but yeah, that one is pretty old, i would hang onto it, but then again i'm into buying markers, never selling.

Yeah, it is older I think. The serial number is RT01246. Anybody know when it was produced?

Ugh, i can't remember but i'm fairly certain that it was in 96, maybe early 97. It's something like 4000 markers behind mine i think, but that's all i know for sure.

Nice recovery! I love classic RT's. Hey, if you want anno fairly cost effective, just send a note to the fool, he does good work and if you just want it re-anodized black, im sure it's not much. Keep going! I'm sure there's ALWAYS more you can do to a mag.
