I won't even get into how much I use for tourney play and practice....

A few weekends ago I took my cocker to play rec ball. I used less than 250 balls all day long.

rec ball doesnt seem anywhere as demanding on the shots per game as tourney ball. Makes me wonder if a lower capacity hopper would be more acceptable for rec/woods ball.

Played today , 6 games of elim. in the woods , used less than a bag , E Mag on full auto , 15 BPS ( playing against ramping Egos , not just the markers ) , the thing about a Mag is you can hit what your shooting at

I am trigger happy... I can shoot a lot if I want to. I've had times where I've shot a case in only a couple hours of play with a mech, single-trigger 98.

That being said, I try to limit myself most of the time. I keep up the rof when I play speedball and X-ball with people who are ramping, but for the most part I limit it to a hopper a game of speedball and I usually don't outshoot that.
It all depends on the game though: how many vs how many, where the game sides, what the others are shooting.

I usually carry 4 pods on me as backup, but not more for a usual game where I might pod up once every 2 games or so. If I get in a standoff though I am prepared and willing to trade paint.

For big-games I run 6-8 pods and that's just so I can play for longer without having to re-equip.

Shooting all mechs: A Tippmann 98 Custom, delta 68 pistol, Automag RT, and a PMI Trracer pump.
Using the 98 I can survive all day on under 1000 rounds. The delta I rarely use, with the 'Mag I can shred through cases like an Ego on full auto but I hold back. Usually I'll use a whole case in a full day.

Playing pump, I can go through under 500 a whole day. I can jam 10rnd tubes in the feedneck and run "ghetto" stock class. That's a total $$ saver But I usually just play open-class pump.

Sometimes I run with a Tac-Cap of 50 rounds on my 98 and 2 50rnd pods for games if I want to play pump style but want to have some extra firepower as well.
In that case I may use less than 50 balls a decent woods game or a game in a scenario village or whatever.

I own an ION but I rarely use it and when I do semi is all I use. The only electro I've used regularly was a Piranha STS E-Force 2k3 with a shake-and-shoot and later a revy.
With the shake-and-shoot I'd hit about 3/4 of a hopper in a hard speeball game and with the revvy I'd hit a full hopper plus change. I was very trigger happy with the piranha though because it was my first electro
The Piranha was problematic though so it was short lived and I traded it for the ION.
The ION I just don't like...

Again, it all really depends on my mood, what others are shooting, and how the games are going. I try not to outshoot my hopper in a usual speedball/woodsball/scenario-map but I always have spare to reload and unload, and all bets are off concerning big-games, scenarios, and hard core speedball/x-ball games.

How I've trained myself to shoot, now the only electro I'd go for would be an e-mag so no worries about unloading a case in 2 games there. Not that the e-mag couldn't but with mech and hybrid it can go into "paint-saver" mode...

Accuracy over firepower any day, though I will admit firepower has it's place.

              .

Practice I go through just about a case an hour. Last practice I used up 1500 rounds in three scrimmages.

Normally for a tourney I will use 500+ balls a game. A lot of that has to do with whether it is us or them getting rolled. This last tourney I only used two hoppers worth in one game, every other was less than a hopper. We got our butts kicked.....

I use about 500 balls a day in most rec ball since I usually play pump. Usually about 1000 a day if I'm using a semi. Occassionally I shoot a full case but thats pretty rare anymore.

In a tourney I shoot usually 500-750 balls per game.

                Scenarios I shoot alot.

I've been playing more scenarios lately with my fresh pneumag so I used a case and a half on Saturday at fox 4. However, for most rec ball I'd use a case a day at my normal field. We tend to get in a lot more games than most other fields to be fair. During games I generally don't have to break into my pod pack unless things get nasty then I start to light it up. It's nice to know that when I get pinned and surrounded by high ROF electro's (A5's don't count) I've got the fire power to pull myself out of a hole. Then again I've had rec days with nothing but newbies and used only a hopper full for 4 or 5 games. So it all depends.

As for cash wise? I try never to exceed a case per/day unless it's a scenario... then things change a little bit. So many targets and so little time
